Eager load mysteriously deletes records
Hi This looks like a bug in ActiveRecord. I am messing with eager loading (on 12.1) and all of a sudden records started disappearing from a table (and I am not doing anything delete related)!! The following line works OK:- @todos = Todo.find(:all, :include => [ :whens],:order => "position ASC") The following line is mysteriously deleteing :where rows from the DB after retrieving them so that the 2nd time I execute the action I get an error cos there is no expected has_one data!! @todos = Todo.find(:all, :i...

symlinks and controllers [stuck on welcome]
I''ve got a super basic quesion about getting rails up and running on a host. I''m following this basic howto: http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/HowtoUseSymLinksToGraftRailsOntoYourWebsite in order to get a rails app up and running on my host, phpwebhosting (oh the irony). I''ve got my app sitting in /home/username/todo (todo is the app) I''ve created my

Passing params to a component
...I''m trying: @master_id = @params[''master_id''] in the components controller but it is not working. ==== Details: In my calling view I have: <%= h(@opportunity.id) %> <div id="todo_list"> <%= render_component :controller => "todos", :params => { "master_id" => @opportunity.id } %> </div> The above displays @opportunity.id so I know it is a valid variable. Has_Many - Saving Child Rows
I have read extensively on has_many but cannot find an explicit example on how to do what I need. I am a newbie, but can grasp it if I see it in a working example. Here is my scenario... I have a form which I can add a TODO item (patterned after http://darkhost.mine.nu:81/~vince/rails/tutorial.html). I have the form working perfectly so I decided to modify it a bit to add more functionality.

vpimd, a personal information server
...eedback, finds it useful as is, or even wants to collaborate... I''ve been working on a "personal information server", something of a protocol multiplexer. Right now it serves calendar feeds for: - a local calendar folder (iCal 1.x''s Library/Calendars) - rss for local todos - icalendar for bdays in a vcard file I run it as a LoginHook on OS X, haven''t tried on Linux. Its a longterm project, with more possibilities than I have time, but I conceive of it taking information from various sources, and presenting them back using rss, ical, jabber, LDAP, webdav/c...
