Logging into linux machine using AD account?
Greetings. I have just started scratching the surface of using Samba to
create a SSO environment for my network. I have been playing a bit with
both SuSE 9.3 and CentOS 4.1 to authenticate to an AD PDM (W2K).
I've made it the farthest with the CentOS server. I have joined it to
the domain and been able to verify AD users and groups using wbinfo
[-u|-g] and getent [passwd|group]. I have

Failed to verify incoming ticket
I am running samba 3.0.23d on Gentoo. I have a particularly problematic
server that is a domain member of our AD domain.
After joining the domain, shares are available and user credentials work
just fine. Then, suddenly for no apparent reason, it stops working. And,
then again, just as quickly as the problem starts, it goes away. I have
looked at this thing as many ways as I can possibly

Samba integration with AD
I know this question has been posed over and over (and over) again, but
I'm at my wit's end. I've dug into the Samba docs, Gentoo specific docs,
and PAM docs, and Googled the heck out of it...
In any event, I'm running Gentoo 2006.0 (just built) running kernel
2.6.15 and Samba 3.0.21b. I'm 'trying' to set up a simple file server
with SSO capabilities to a 2K AD

Removing display of domain
Greetings. I am running Samba 3.0.23d on Gentoo and am in the process of
joining it to the AD domain as I have done with numerous other servers.
The last item that I am working on that is bugging the crud out of me is
that I have "winbind use default domain = yes", but when using wbinfo
-[u|g] or getent [passwd|group] I still see the domain portion of the
user/group account listed.

Shares mount on linux but not windows?
Curious. I have a gentoo server running 3.0.23d that simply serves out
shares. It is a domain member, but not a pdc. From another linux server,
I can mount up shares without a hitch. But from a windows box, I keep
getting prompted for credentials.
I am not seeing anything substantial in the logs.
