Was it ever a part of Centos?
Supposedly I need it and my colleague is providing me with an rpm, but
he implies that 'seems to have been removed from Centos'?

comparing AIC values of models with transformed, untransformed, and weighted variables
Hi there, I have a question regarding model comparisons that seems
simple enough but to which I cannot find an answer. I am interested in
developing a predictive model relating some measure of a tree's stem to
the total leaf area (TLA) of the tree. Predictor variables might
include, for example, the total cross-sectional area of the tree
(commonly referred to as basal area) or the amount of sapwood area (SA)
(which represents the amount of wood involved in active transport of
water up the tree to the leaves). A variety of pe...

The general rule in English is that the first time any abbreviation, including
a Three Letter Acronym (TLA), is introduced into a written document then the
full term is used and the replacement shown in parentheses immediately
thereafter. With all respect to those with Computer Science (CS) degrees, or
Software engineering (SE) certifications, many of us are involved in

Needed help to fix corrupted ext3 fs
I have been trying very hard to seek help with my very complex issue but
so far none have been successful. So I would like to try this mailing
list, maybe there are some experts who know what they're talking about.
Please refer to my experts-exchange question, all the required
information will be there. It is more practical to send you to the
webpage than paste out what I've done.

I never understood the term "Hig Availability" : does it mean
available as in "soliciting" ?
What exactly those lusers want? and what exactly we self declared high
tech droids / engineers seek?
What exactly is "production" use? (I know DEV, UAT, blah, bla, tla
etc been there done that and I don't have the T shirt - nobody gave me
one)

[Bug 742] sftp doesn't honor "Protocol 1" in config file
...Protocol 1
whereas "sftp -1 USERNAME at savannah.nongnu.org" succeeds.
This implies that the "Protocol 1" directive is not being honored by sftp.
This is a real problem for folks using software which calls sftp without
permitting the user to specify command line arguments. (tla, a revision control
system with support for hosting repositories on sftp servers, is one such piece
of software).

Markdown Extra Specification (First Draft)
It took much more time than I expected, and it is currently less
complete than I have hoped, but I've finaly made a first draft of the
Markdown Extra spec. You can find it at <http://michelf.com/specs/markdown-extra/

Currently, the specification defines its goals and a document model
for Markdown Extra. It lacks the most important part though: the
parsing section, which

New rpm, same name, how to update
I have to build my own rpms for the HIPL project. I update my copy of
the code and make rpm.
Thing is the rpm name never changes from patch to patch.
Is there a way to have yum apply the new code as an update and not have
to erase then install?

The error was adding a DNS record, the rest of the output up to the
python error message is just an artefact

R2 for SAR and validation
Hi everyone,
How can i obtain R2 for SAR model? and how can i validate the results, can i use the coefficients directly in a simple formula like y=b0+b1*x1+... or do i have to use the complicated formula for SAR (the one with the weight matrix and rho and...)?
Thanks for any help!

Logitech cordless desktop ex 90
Anyone using ex 90?
I have it running, no problem. Only mouse was little tricky, namely in X.
But jut a little change in xorg.conf and everything works fine (CO 5.1 desktop
install with vanilla kernel).
Now would like to get keyboards extra buttons in use. Question is, anyone
configured it allready, or do I have to invent wheel? again :D

Looking for uuid-devel
Just pulled the lastest patches to HIPL (well the last replay was 11/24,
so a number of nights behind) and tried a 'make rpm' and got the error:
error: Failed build dependencies:
uuid-devel is needed by hipl-1.0.4-1.i386
And I can'd find any rpm that has this module. I have tried different
things in yum and have not found it. resolvedep, whatprovides, info,
list.
