Slow Access Database on Samba
Dear All, We have an access database running on a Samba share (Samba version 3.0.10-1.4E) with a gigabit connection to the network. The front end of the databases are on the client machines with linked tables stored in a separate mdb file on the linux server. For some reason the database runs very slowly when it is set up in this way. I tested copying a 10 MB file onto the samba share and it

call forwarding question
I have looked on the wiki and in the archives for as much info as I can find about call forwarding. I have it working based on the sample from Tips&Tricks except for handling voice mail. When I detect a forwarded extension, I call Dial(Local/${fwNum}@internal/n,20) to dial the number as thought it were dialed directly from our extensions. If I have the extension forwarded to an internal line, the recursive Dial(Local...) will handle...

Q about "overlimit", and IMQ/NAT trick
hi, I''ve successfully implemented shaping and policing with HTB for my SDSL line. Some tips&tricks I discovered which were not covered in the FAQs and docs I read: - To discover the appropriate rate for your line, flood it with traffic and reduce the rate until the matching class starts to show a consistent backlog -- only then you''ve managed to take the queue away fro...

Samba + Clipper too slow
...tion has been shared with Windows 98, 2K or XP and run too much faster than Samba. We tried tuning the smb.conf modifying parameters: oplock, lock spin time, etc... We have read the documentation about SAMBA in: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/samba/chapter/book/appb_02.html http://www.drouillard.ca/Tips&Tricks/Samba/Oplocks.htm We've tried with different schemas: Filesystems: ext3, reiserfs, xfs, vfat with and without LVM2 and tried again, but with the same result: the application run VERY slow. Any clues on what could be the problem? and how to solve them? Beforehand thanks! The hard...
