samba_dlz shutting down on named reload
Well, I created a bug report for this issue. Seems that none of the developers has picked up on it. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13214 On 16 January 2018 at 19:47, Mark Nienberg <mnlists at tippingstructural.com> wrote: > > On Tue, Jan 9, 2018 at 7:34 AM, Kristján Valur Jónsson via samba < > samba at lists.samba.org> wrote: > >> >> I have finally traced this problem down to a *reload* of named.conf, that >> occurs as part of a logrotate. >> >> Has a...

samba_dlz shutting down on named reload
Hello there. I´ve been having problems with dynamic dns update by dhcp on my samba ADDC running on CentOS 7 on an RPI2. After a while, the dhccp_dyndns.sh stops stops being able to authenticate with named. for the longest time I was stumped with this, exploring all kinds of kerberos issues, but found out that *restartint* named did resolve the issue. I have finally traced this problem down to a

Emails in Public folders aren't showing up in Outlook
Hi, I've inherited our Devocot setup from someone else & don't know much about it. I can view our Public email folders fine in Thunderbird, but when I try it with Outlook 2013, I can see the folder structure fine, but when I click on a folder it doesn't show any emails. Here's a screen shot of Outlook: https://imgur.com/CHIDJOr And Thunderbird: https://imgur.com/WxmsUTM

Roaming Profiles acls after upgrade
We recently upgraded our samba 3.6 network to samba 4.2.3. It is still a NT-style domain. The underlying OS was upgraded from CentOS 5 to CentOS 7. The profiles share is set up like this: [profiles] comment = Roaming Profiles path = /mnt/share2/ntprofiles browseable = no writable = yes csc policy = disable create mask = 0600 directory mask

Mounting samba share from linux fails
I have an old CentOS 6 machine that needs to mount a share from a samba active directory. It was working when the AD DC was running samba 4.4.5, but it stopped working when the AD DC was updated to 4.5.6. In both cases the samba member server that hosts the share is running 4.5.6. The version of cifs-utils on the CentOS 6 machine is 4.8.1. The same samba share can be mounted successfully from a

inconsistent winbind on upgraded member server
I upgraded a domain member server from 4.5.5 to 4.6.2. After some initial tests, where everything seemed to be working fine, I upgraded the OS from CentOS 7.3 to 7.4. Now I have intermittent problems with domain users trying to log in to the member server over ssh. After a bunch of troubleshooting I determined that winbind sometimes returns the user home directory and shell incorrectly and

roll back member server to VM snapshot
In trying to diagnose a domain member server problem after a samba upgrade, I was tempted to roll back my server to a VMware snapshot taken before the upgrade. However, when I looked at the log file "log-wb-DOMAIN" I saw an entry that the server had changed its password on the DC since the snapshot. How do I handle this if I have to roll back? Will I have to join the domain again? Is it
