small linux distro to run * in old boxes

syslinux mkisofs hard-disk-boot isohybrid
...k image (core.img) with necessary parts for bios (legacy bootable partition, protective mbr, gptmbr.bin & syslinux installation) and for uefi (gpt, esp, /efi/boot/bootx64.efi & syslinux files). my hard disk image is ok - eg. bootable - with qemu on bios and uefi (vmlinux & core.gz from tinylinux 7.2 are used). Hi, I often have to deal with relatively obsolete hardware in schools, public libraries, small town halls, etc. I still have a handful of CentOS 5.x installations around for these, but I wonder what CentOS 6.x desktop specs are, e. g. the minimum requirements (in terms of CPU and RAM) to reasonably run it.
