[URGENT] tinc has a security hole of about 50 million km^2
Sending your passphrase encrypted is all fine, but tinc sends the key
with which it was encrypted about a second later...
Anyone being able to intercept these two requests is authorized on the
VPN.
We need asymmetric authentication _now_.

Looking for mono and poly-channel ogg files to test
Hi,
Could somebody points me to some .ogg test files
in mono or with more than 2 channels?
I am also looking for info on how channels are positionned
so than I can remap them for 2 channels only environments.
Cheers,
André Timmermans

tap1 problem
Hi Tinc Mailing-Group,
Having set up the kernel correctly, and got tinc running successfully,
I am now trying to get two VPNs running at once. Hence I need to
have two ethertap devices ( /dev/tap0 and /dev/tap1 ).
The first tap0 device was created thus:
mknod -m 600 /dev/tap0 c 36 16
chown 0.0 /dev/tap0
The second tap1 device was created too:
mknod -m 600 /dev/tap1 c 36 17
chown 0.0 /dev/tap1

FLOAT_LOOKUP version of lsp_to_curve
It seems to me that in this version of the function using
float p=.7071067812f;
float q=.7071067812f;
will just leads after applying all the products and squaring
to p and q having a common factor 0.5 which can be extracted
from the formulaes.
So I propose to replace:
float p=.7071067812f;
float q=.7071067812f;
float w=vorbis_coslook(wdel*k);
float *ftmp=lsp;

RFH -> Request for Help.
Hello all,
I've been playing with tinc to setup a wan between two offices of the
company that I work for. I'm partially there but having a slight problem.
tinc comes up between the 2 machines (both 2.2.14 debian woody
machines), and I can ping from the vpn machine at office a, and get a
response from office b. However, if I ping any other machine across the
wan I can't get a

efence didn't show anything when I tried to use it a few weeks back.
Guus discovered two bugs this weekend, so maybe that fixes your
problem.
Guus: how is that fix coming along?

Maybe it's better to make these optional?

Maybe it encourages people to update it if you leave it? Maybe place
a comment somewhere visible saying that we would like to have it
updated?

CUSUM SQUARED structural breaks approach?
Dear all,
Does anyone know where there is R or S code for the CUSUM SQUARED
structural breaks approach? (Brown, Durban and Evans, 1975 - used in
Pesaran and Timmerman, 2002)
The problem is that the breaks package only appears to offer the
standard 'unsquared' CUSUM, even though it appears most think it is
inferior to the squared version. It might appear to be a relatively
simple problem - just use the recursive residuals function, square
them and then...

iTunes?
Hi All,
If you would please suffer a Fedora Code 13 question on a CentOS mailing
list, I
have a Linux customer with Fedora Code 13 who loves it but is about to dump
it because he really, really wants iTunes. (He owns an iPod and an iPhone.)
None of the Linux utilities quite work right and he wants to buy music from
the iTunes store as well. Plus he wants to synchronize his contacts list.
So, I

Re: libogg2 branch->trunk (deadline: 5/30)
I have no objection to the API in itself, but could the API and structure
only use the ogg fundamental types
(like ogg_int32_t) or even better the C99 official types (like int32_t)
because at the moment there is
a real mix of types used for the occurences of serialno (long, int,
ogg_uint32_t), beos, eos, ...

CentOS 4.8
Hi,
I installed CentOS 4.8 on VMware Fusion 3.1.2. The installation was fine.
During the installation, it asked me to enter my username and password. I
tried to enter "root" as the username, but it was not allowed. So I had to
enter other name for that.
After I logged into CentOS 4.8, I could not do sudo because I was a regular
user. Could somebody tell me how I can become root?
Thank

Status of tinc, and release plans for 1.0 and further.
...everybody gets a fair chance to experiment, and we have some time
to squash any bugs left.
Thanks to Lubom?r Bulej and Mads Kiilerich, there will be rpms of
this version, and if everything goes well, there will also be a deb of
it.
That's just about all for now, 'till next time.
