overlay additional axes
Greetings, I am trying to add an extra labled axis in position 3 (top x-axis), with numbers that do not match up with the existing axes. Surely this must be possible, and I am just doing it incorectly. So far I have tried the following: #make a plot plot(TIK, type="l", cex=.25, xlim=c(2,32), ylim=c(0,1600)) #try and add a new axis with different numbers in position 3

Preserving uid/gid on remote machine with non-root permission
Is there a way to backup files to a remote machine on which I don't have root permission, while preserving their uids/gids? I know that only the super-user can set the owner and group of a file, so what I am actually looking for is a tool that would store the actual uids/gids of all files that are backuped by rsync in a kind of meta-file. This file could then be used to restore the files

This is an error you can't blame on your device. domain is not a file, but a bash variable. read takes stdin (which is what the OP's snippet is doing) and populates the named variable(s) (domain in this case). --keith -- kkeller at wombat.san-fr...

authorizedkeys2 for a DHCP based client
Dear all, My Problem: I cannot get authorizedkeys2 working such that I do not need to supply a password. My Configuration: A Linux server with OpenSSH2.9p1 and a fixed IP-Address. mount /dev/hda6 ext3
Dear all, I followed the instructions found on http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/ext3/ext3-usage.html to convert / on several of my boxes to ext3. Strange to me, on some boxes it perfectly worked while on others it didn't. One of the differences found is that on the ok-boxes mount reports: /dev/hda3 on / type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro) /* Settings: cat /etc/fstab /dev/hda3 / ext3

Help with at Bash script
I am attempting to get a script borrowed from DJB to work on my CentOS-6.6 box. Simplified it looks like this: tcpdump -l -n -e port 53 \ | awk '{if ($14 ~ /A.*?/) print $15}' \ | while read domain ; do echo $domain ; done ; The sticking point is the 'while read' construct. Run just as 'tcpdum | awk' I get this: english.stackexchange.com. www.urbandictionary.com.

OpenSSHd: PATHs in configuration files
Dear all, is it possible to specify the default paths in the appropriate configuration of the Daemon ? If not, wouldn't it make sense to include that feature as the configuration files get parsed anyway ? What do you mean ? config.h.in
Dear developers, today, I cvs'ed the newest openSSH. Unfortunately, the config.h.in file was missing. I copied it from the tar-ball. Was this my fault or a problem in the CVS ? Wanted Good Documentation on HFSC
Hello All, I am trying to prioratize VOIP traffic from data. The follwing link says that HFSC is better than HTB for shaping VOIP traffic. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-QoS+Linux+with+HFSC I am in search of good documentation to start with HFSC, I am unable to understand the parameters used. I "googled" a lot to find on how to use HFSC, but no luck. Can anyone of you get me a link To
