[PATCH 0/2] ocfs2: two bug fixes about xattr and inline-data
...s2_init_security_set(), but in there we found inode is full, then
panic at ocfs2_claim_metadata in ocfs2_xattr_block_set.
the second bug:
we don't check inline xattr in ocfs2_try_to_write_inline_data(), so the
inline data may overwrite the xattr entries which have already in inode.

Question on Counting Factors
...re what it is.
Please see short example below. ?I would like to get the frequency
(counts) of all the variables in a single column (that is easy), but I
would also like to return the value 0 for the absence of variables
defined in another column.
For example:
animals = matrix(c('cat','tiger','cat','tiger','fish','fish','dog','dog'),ncol=2,
byrow=F)
animals = as.data.frame(animals)
table(animals$V1)
# Returns the count for the variables in the first column as
cat tiger
? ?2 ? ? 2
# But I would like to have table(animals$V1) return...

[LLVMdev] LLVM on Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11
Hello,
I apologize if this has been covered before but has anyone
successfully built llvm on Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.11)? I upgraded to
Xcode 2.4.1 and got the binaries for the llvm-gcc frontend and the
source for llvm. I built llvm but realized that the frontend binaries
required libiconv version 7.0.0. but the version on Tiger is 5.0.0.
Trying to build the frontend from source gives me a bunch of errors....

[LLVMdev] LLVM on Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11
Looks like I was a little too ambitious in getting version LLVM-2.5 to
build on Mac OS X Tiger which uses gcc 4.0.1. LLVM -2.2 built fine.
I did get the LLVM-2.5 tree to build but it was the gcc front-end part
of it that failed. If anyone has built the both parts of version 2.5
on Tiger please let me know.
Thanks,
Bijoy.

Weird Samba upload performance on Gigabit network
Here's a weird one that may have nothing to do with Samba and more to
do with network frame sizes.
I have recently upgraded the network infrastructure to support
gigabit speeds.
- OSX Tiger to OSX Tiger file transfers operate at gigabit speeds.
- Samba 3.0.23C (Suse 10) to OSX Tiger file transfers operate at
gigabit speeds.
- BUT OSX Tiger to Samba 3.0.23C (Suse 10) file transfers operate at
1-2meg/second which is well down from expected performance.
The strange thing is if I beg...

OpenSSH 2.9p1 on Solaris 7 error, 2 bugs
Hi.
I am running OpenSSH 2.9p1 on Solaris 7, and I believe that I have
identified a bug that has been annoying several of our faculty.
Our SSH server has 4 addresses:
Name: tiger.cs.yorku.ca
Addresses: 130.63.88.26, 130.63.90.26, 130.63.92.26, 130.63.86.26
If I do:
% ssh -X tiger
I am able to login to tiger, and run X applications.
However, the IP addresses cycle for tiger on name lookups like on any
multi-IP host, so after a short period of time, X applications cannot...

Samba, OS X Tiger 10.4 plain text password, username null-padded?
...s
*outside the scope of this question* we are using plaintext passwords
and authenticating via our NFS server. (I know this isn't a great
idea, but that's not the question)
With Panther, plaintext passwords worked fine. Snooping, I see the
plain text password and username go through.
With Tiger, we first had to apply this small fix to the client to
enable plain text passwords:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301580
Once this was done, snooping an smbclient connection, I see the plain
text password and the username but they are null-padded.
Authentication works. But when Ti...

Fw: Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.2 SMB
Hi Guys,
Can anyone offer me any assistance at all with the query below.
Even perhaps if there is some "how to" somewhere to get Tiger pcs to join a domain.
I really need to get this problem solved, and I have searched and searched and haven't found anything yet.
Thanks!

Hi. I'm not having any luck installing the binary for the new

here.)

Tiger team.
Hi,
I''m back. :-)
Alex and a few others have expressed concerns about the legal
implications of forming a tiger team. Maybe the term "tiger team"
doesn''t officially represent what we meant. But I don''t mind
redefining established terms if I feel like it :-)
What we here call a "tiger team" is a team of people that try to beat
the bad guys to finding security holes. To p...

fix mlog_errno in ocfs2_global_read_info
...he size
of the struct ocfs2_global_disk_dqinfo, only when it is not equal to the
correct size, it will be a error. So this positive value should be
return and should not log it as a error.
I made a patch to fix this, and in the patch I removed the redundant
mlog_errno also.
Thanks for review

it correctly. Snap grants Tiger only "guest" access instead of the
full user access requested, and "guest&...
