Hello, I have written a function that demonstrates the CLT by generating samples following the exponential distribution, calculating the means, plotting the histogram, and drawing the limiting normal curve as an overlay. I have the title of each histogram state the sample size and rate (1/theta) for the exponential (the output is actually 4 histograms), but I can't get the greek letter theta

strange problem with ipfw and rc.conf
Hi all: I have strange probelm with rc.conf. I set up ipfw (compiled into kernel) on freebsd-5.4 and it doesn't seem to load ipfw rulesets (it uses default ruleset 65335 locking out everything). I have to do "sh /etc/ipfw.rules" in order to load the rulesets, once I did that, I can access the box from remote locations here is my rc.conf: host# more /etc/rc.conf

need help setting up a printer
...print jobs into pdf documents. I'm not using a real printer for this. I need samba to display the cups printer called PDF_Printer so that I can print to it from windows. Now the only driver with cups so far that I've been able to get to create a non corrupt pdf was the raw driver aside from thta I had tried some hp drivers but don't really have a clue what I SHOULD use as a driver with pdfdistiller. Anyway raw works for cups and I can use the cups web interface to print a test page and then view that pdf with xpdf or acroread. From this point assuming that I had samba displaying the pr...

Nouveau: kernel hang on Optimus+Intel+NVidia GeForce 1060m
Hi, the system fails to initialize your vbios using secureboot (i had a rare chance to on my system to witness it again), for now i traced it to acr_boot_falcon() in "linux/drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nvkm/falcon/msgqueue_0148cdec.c" where it throws -110 which is -ETIMEDOUT. You could try to increase the timeout and see if it helps something, similar to the following: diff --git

Nouveau: kernel hang on Optimus+Intel+NVidia GeForce 1060m
Thanks Tobias, I tried this but unfortunately the only effect was thta the boot was delayed by an additional 4 seconds :( The original timeout is at drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nvkm/subdev/secboot/ls_ucode_msgqueue.c I tried to increase that timeout, but it did not seem to make a difference either. I think I get this error less often when I have a cable plugged in the ou...

Goodness fit test HELP!
Hi there, I'm a newbie, plesae bear with me. I have a dataset with about 10000 ~ 30000 data points. Would like fit to both Gamma and Normal distribution to see which one fits better. How do I do this in R? Or I could do a normality test of the data, if it's normal, I then will do a normal fit, otherwise, a gamma fit. But again, I don't know how to do this either. Please help!
