Help on conditional selection of data.frame data...
...ed. It works. -> fff <- ff[ff$HG == "GUEST",] ffff <- fff[fff$WR == "READ",] But it doesn't work -> ff[ff$HG == "GUEST",ff$WR=="READ"] How can I use 2 or more conditions together in one sentence ? 2. I want to plot Throuput data using BlockSize as x-axis like the following: plot(ffff$BlockSize, ffff$Throughput, type="o") But, Gap between 2 axis values are not consistent in the graph. So I tried to use log() like the following: plot( log(ffff$BlockSize), ffff$Throughput, type="o") The proble...

Thoughput
Hi, I am after a feel of the throughput capabilities for TC and Iptables in comparison to dedicated hardware. I have heard talk about 1Gb+ throughput with minimal performance impact using 50ish TC rules and 100+ Iptables rules. Is there anyone here running large throughput / large configurations, and if so, what sort of figures? Regards Dan

We tries to ran the request on single nodes without RAC with only DBF file on OCFS. -> Same problem. We tried to run several version of OCFS -> same problem. We bench a few storage throuput with no revelant bottle neck. And in RAW device the reponse time is perfect. I read OCFS source a recompile it in debug mode. I can see that the same number of reading block demand (according to the sql log) follow an increasing amount of ocfs_get_block2() call. In consequence the request reponse...

throughput of 300MB/s
Hello, are there any experiences with samba as a _really_ fast server? Assuming if the filesystem and network is fast enough, has anyone managed to get a throughput in samba of of let's say 300 MB/s ? Are there any benchmarks? regards, Martin

domU has a better networking than dom0
...dom0 and a 4.0.1 Xen hypervisor. Using netperf with UDP_RR I get 1819 and 622 transaction per second for domU and dom0 respectively, but in UDP_STREAM test domU is showing a better throughput for all packet sizes (on average around 3Mbps better, on a 10/100 network with around 96Mbps average native throuput). Is it normal or I am missing something?

xen dom0/domU network speed
Hi all, I have problem reaching 1Gbps network speed with dom0 / domU (paravirtualized) on my centos5 installations. The fastest speed I measured in domU was about 800/600 receive/transmit Mbps, dom0 being a bit slower. I'm using bridging (eeither with default xen/centos network-bridge script or with my own scripts assigning vlans to bridges). Is anyone experiencing same network slowdown? Or

Shaping incoming traffic on the other interface
Hi, I have a typical configuration for my firewall/gateway box: single network card, with a pppoe connection to the DSL modem. I''m already successfully shaping the uplink (how come that the wondershaper.htb doesn''t use the ceil parameter? It should implement bandwidth borrowing!) but i found the ingress policy a little bit rough. I''d like to keep the traffic categories

Network Latency
Hiya, I''m trying to track down some throughput latency that our customer seems to be attributing to our product, I can''t see what he''s talking about, but I want to try and get some deeper granularity than I might get with something like smokeping, and maybe even see if its down to something tunable on our end. I''ve been looking for some examples on how

Interesting observation with network event notification and batching
Hi all I''m hacking on a netback trying to identify whether TLB flushes causes heavy performance penalty on Tx path. The hack is quite nasty (you would not want to know, trust me). Basically what is doesn''t is, 1) alter network protocol to pass along mfns instead of grant references, 2) when the backend sees a new mfn, map it RO and cache it in its own address space. With this

understanding zfs/thunoer "bottlenecks"?
Currently I''m trying to figure out the best zfs layout for a thumper wrt. to read AND write performance. I did some simple mkfile 512G tests and found out, that per average ~ 500 MB/s seems to be the maximum on can reach (tried initial default setup, all 46 HDDs as R0, etc.). According to http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/DownloadableAssets/ArchitectureWP_062806.pdf I would

About profiling xen
Hi there, I am getting very low throughput (around 0.29Mbps) while running netperf benchmark for guest to guest communication on a single physical host. To analyse where the time is spent in hypervisor I wanna use profiling. Please help me choosing good profiler according to my requirments. Should it be better in my case, Xentrace, gprof, xenoprof  or Oprofile. Is it possible to use some vtune

serious networking (em) performance (ggate and NFS) problem
Dear best guys, I really love 5.3 in many ways but here're some unbelievable transfer rates, after I went out and bought a pair of Intel GigaBit Ethernet Cards to solve my performance problem (*laugh*): (In short, see *** below) Tests were done with two Intel GigaBit Ethernet cards (82547EI, 32bit PCI Desktop adapter MT) connected directly without a switch/hub and "device
