3.0.0 on RH9, throughoutput problems
Greetings, We're deploying a Samba 3.0.0 server running RedHat 9 and having performance problems. The system specs are as follows: -P4 Xeon 2.4ghz -genuine intel server mobo(SE7501BR2) w/one gigabit, one 100baseT interface. Using the gigabit interface with the kernel's e1000 driver. -1GB/ram -four 10k U320 drives, hardware RAID 5 on a Megaraid 320 w/64MB of built-in cache. The

What is Samba speed?
Hi, what is Samba speed limit? I usually get maximum throughoutput about 3-4 MBytes/s reading from Samba, 2-3 MB/s writing to Samba server. (IDE discs, but 256 MB memory, Athlon 900 MHz, one 500 MB file, 100 Mbit network). What are your results? Does anybody knows about some performance tunings? I have adjusted only this: socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=16...

Ive checked with tcpdump -v -v |grep tos and yes ftp-data get [tos 0x8] which destination is band 2 if i read the documentation right? Allthough everything is set ok all my interactiv traffic ssh/telnet etc is very slow and sloppy when someone uploads to our ftp...
