Site statistics
Hey, I was wondering what everyone else does in regards to getting webalizer or other site statistics software to work with mongrel. I currently have a mongrel cluster running behind apache 2.2 with proxy_mod_balancer, but I"m finding that webalizer isn''t too thrilled with that mod. Thanks, Andrew

Hello all, I used google and looked at the documentation to find out why the ADONIS function is called adonis (in the vegan package). I am writing a document and would like to include a abbreviation list (similar to "ANOSIM = Analysis of Similarities"). regards, Steve

HELP! I can't install a .exe file!
Hey, before I was running Wine and I couldn't open up a .exe file that downloads a game (Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill) that I have bought online. Is there an easy workaround for this? Please, please reply asap, as I am planning on putting Wine on this new computer to run Windows files. Thanks! :)

[C6] Some typical apps missing?
Hi everyone! :-) I just installed CentOS 6 on one of my desktop machines, and yum now tells me that some of my favorite apps are not present in any of the repositories I configured. To name a few: ktorrent, kile, krusader, pavucontrol, mplayerplug-in (or is it now gecko-mediaplayer), xine, xmms, and so on... All these apps were readily available for C5, and I used them happily. I am mostly

Newbie, Question on making a PSTN call..
Hello Asterisk-users, I am new to Asterisk. I got SIP Calls to work between two computers using a soft phone and asterisk in the middle. Since then, I have been trying to get my soft phone to make a PSTN call with terrible failure for about two days now. On Windows using asteriskwin32: I have a soft modem (Agere HDA Modem) in my laptop. Windows' default dialer is able to make a PSTN call by

Proxy Access (Manager/Secretary) Best Practices?
I've mostly got our dovecot+postfix+SOGo+openldap open source groupware replacement working the way I want it to; we're replacing GroupWise in our organization and I'm thrilled to be doing it. I'm supporting about 1,000 active staff users (and another 6,000 student accounts). I've got e-mail and calendar sharing working, and it does what it says it will do, but it is (go

Beta question - initial install of packages
When I used Fedora Core 5, and got to the screen for packages to install, I had the option to Customize which packages I wanted to install, but never an option to install EVERYTHING. That annoyed me. When I use Redhat Enterprise 4, and get to the screen for packages to install, I have the option to Customize which packages I want to install. That leads me to a screen showing a tree of

[O/T] undergrads and R
Dear R People: Are your undergraduate students receptive to learning R, as a rule? Most of the time, mine really like it. But this semester, they act as though they are being eaten by rats when learning R. They are not trying at all. Any similar experiences? If anyone has any good ideas, I would be THRILLED to hear them, as I am using R in Summer School. Thanks, Sincerely, Erin Hodgess

Bandwidth measurement tool: bmtools
This is not specifically on-topic for Asterisk, but I have found on many occasions while working with Asterisk that it would have been very handy to be able to measure, with some precision, the bandwidth being used by a particular host, port, or combination of the two. So, I went searching for various tools, none of which were what I wanted. They either were too clever, or too limited in

[LLVMdev] Enabling the vectorizer for -Os -- ping
All I have to say is *wow*. The vectorizer performs *remarkably* better now than it did the last time I benchmarked it. I'm stunned. I measured -O2 and -Os, as well as -march=x86-64 and -march=corei7-avx. My hope with the latter two was to cover both worst-case and best-case in terms of the quality of the vector ISA available. First, binary size growth. This is measured on average across a

<<- how/when/why do you use it?
Hi all, Today I came across scoping in the R intro<http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-intro.html#Scope> (after reading Robert Gentleman fortune<http://rfortunes.posterous.com/im-always-thrilled-when-people-discover-what> on lexical scooping) , and am very curious about the <<- assignment. The manual showed one (very interesting) example for "<<-", which I
