Site statistics
Hey, I was wondering what everyone else does in regards to getting webalizer or other site statistics software to work with mongrel. I currently have a mongrel cluster running behind apache 2.2 with proxy_mod_balancer, but I"m finding that webalizer isn''t too thrilled with that mod. Thanks, Andrew

why is adnonis function called adonis {package vegan}
Hello all, I used google and looked at the documentation to find out why the ADONIS function is called adonis (in the vegan package). I am writing a document and would like to include a abbreviation list (similar to "ANOSIM = Analysis of Similarities"). regards, Steve

HELP! I can't install a .exe file!
Hey, before I was running Wine and I couldn't open up a .exe file that downloads a game (Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill) that I have bought online. Is there an easy workaround for this? Please, please reply asap, as I am planning on putting Wine on this new computer to run Windows files. Thanks! :)

Using two agents
...ssh-agent with both keys and automatically delete that first key, if present, in your .bashrc or .login procedures in the remote account. That doesn't keep the first private key around for repeated logins, but that might be enough for some circumstances. Mind you, I've never been complete thrilled with ssh-agent. If you really want to segregate credentials for different environments, you might look into Kerberos based authentication, which can provide a very different approach to finer grained credential management. I just wish I could get it to work with Subversion.....

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] RFC: put commit messages in *-commits subject lines?

If you can > implement the fix to our scripts (and get Tanya or Chris or Anton to > give you access), I would be thrilled. I'm in favor of it. Of course, the truly awesomest thing would be something like: [cfe-commits] r167788 - [lib/Analysis] Fix bad CFG construction bug when handling C++ 'try' statements. Even if it required some heuristics and horrible hackery in the commit script, it would be...

Building rpcclient statically linked?
...re well, just that, aren't they subject to the same limitations as the rpcclient binary itself, i.e. gen_ndr et al not copying out the raw SD? Or are you saying there is a way for me to send the underlying RPC itself to bypass all of this stuff like rpcclient does via the bindings? i would be thrilled to get the Python stuff working. I once looked into this about a year or so ago but there wan't any documentation and I think the whole Python bindings stuff was still in flux at the time. -aps

[C6] Some typical apps missing?
...reported by yum. What am I missing? I would also be grateful if anyone has a suggestion for a reasonable (and available) substitute for any of these apps. I usually prefer KDE4 apps, but will use anything that works. I found some (rtorrent, mozilla-vlc, gnome-volume-control), but I am not exactly thrilled with their quality, so I'm hoping someone has a better suggestion. Google didn't want to be my friend this time, all hits were related to C5... ;-) TIA, :-) Marko

Newbie, Question on making a PSTN call..
...sure what drivers to choose where and what parameters to change in tapi/fx configuration files etc. to get asterisk to use this modem to call out. Read plenty of articles about how asterisk cannot make a good phone call using a half duplex modem. But, This is for experimental purposes and I will be thrilled to just get my phone ringing before I go out to buy specific hardware. On my Ubuntu: Next up, I connected my phone(NOKIA N73) to my computer, ensured that I am able to connect to internet on my ubuntu. wvdial works good too. Again, I am unsure how to get asterisk to connect to this modem so that...

Proxy Access (Manager/Secretary) Best Practices?
I've mostly got our dovecot+postfix+SOGo+openldap open source groupware replacement working the way I want it to; we're replacing GroupWise in our organization and I'm thrilled to be doing it. I'm supporting about 1,000 active staff users (and another 6,000 student accounts). I've got e-mail and calendar sharing working, and it does what it says it will do, but it is (go figure) different in concept from Proxy access under GroupWise. In GroupWise, I can give m...

Beta question - initial install of packages
...which packages I want to install. That leads me to a screen showing a tree of catatories. Towards the bottom, I find an "Everything" option. I almost always choose that. When I learned about CentOS 4.4, and got to the package install screen, the EVERYTHING option was there. I was thrilled! >From the CentOS beta, I thought I would again get the EVERYTHING option, but to my shock, the packages screen actually goes back to the FC5 days, thus no easy (that I could find) way to just select all packages. Am I missing something? If this is true, and the team is still in developmen...

[O/T] undergrads and R
...People: Are your undergraduate students receptive to learning R, as a rule? Most of the time, mine really like it. But this semester, they act as though they are being eaten by rats when learning R. They are not trying at all. Any similar experiences? If anyone has any good ideas, I would be THRILLED to hear them, as I am using R in Summer School. Bandwidth measurement tool: bmtools
...ing used by a particular host, port, or combination of the two. So, I went searching for various tools, none of which were what I wanted. They either were too clever, or too limited in their abilities. However, someone forwarded the link to this tool to me about an hour ago, and I've been thrilled that it does _exactly_ what I want. I can use a BPF-style filter to monitor exactly what I'd like to watch, and it hands back results to me in "real time" down to a one-second interval. Sometimes, a small program can make me very happy, and I suppose after a morning full of va...

[LLVMdev] Enabling the vectorizer for -Os -- ping
...terribly satisfying. But even if that's the result, I can live with it. So essentially, I think you should turn the vectorizer on completely. What's left seem very much like small isolated issues. Thanks for driving this whole thing and giving me time to do some evaluation. I'm really thrilled by the result. -Chandler On Fri, Jun 14, 2013 at 11:53 AM, Chandler Carruth <chandlerc at google.com>wrote: > Sorry for the delays here. [LLVMdev] [RFC] SCEV Enhancements
...d having everything understand inttoptr when most people > don't need it. If you want to change this, it'd be helpful to show > a code example to show motivation. Sure. I'll try tweaking instcombine first and see where that gets us. I have some pretty good testcases. I'd be thrilled if we could just dump these SCEV changes. That's why I did the original GEP instcombine stuff. I actually ripped out the SCEV changes after that and performance tanked. :( > [0] or i1* if you feel like being a purist ;-). Err? What are the scaling semantics for i1? I don't immed...

<<- how/when/why do you use it?
Hi all, Today I came across scoping in the R intro<http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-intro.html#Scope> (after reading Robert Gentleman fortune<http://rfortunes.posterous.com/im-always-thrilled-when-people-discover-what> on lexical scooping) , and am very curious about the <<- assignment. The manual showed one (very interesting) example for "<<-", which I feel I understood. What I am still missing is the context of when this can be useful. So what I would love...
