Using local writes with gluster for temporary storage
...ed (the NUFA policy) has since been deprecated. What would be the recommended method of accomplishing our goal in the latest version of Gluster? And where can we find documentation on it? We have seen the following links, but would be interested in any more pointers you may have. Live blockcopy onto storage pool that is an NFS mount?
...t;/permissions> </target> </pool> The XML for the nfs2 pool is similar, with the mountpoint being /var/lib/libvirt/images/nfs2. I would like to be able to move the VM disk from one of the NFS mountpoints to another (nfs1 --> nfs2) live. I followed the instructions here: http://thr3ads.net/libvirt-users/2013/02/2174486-Migrate-VMs-to-different-storage-pool However when I attempt the blockcopy command, I receive this error: Failed to create file '/var/lib/libvirt/images/nfs2/vm.qcow2': Operation not permitted Is it not possible to blockcopy in this way to an NFS mount?...

Kernel crash when using usbhid-ups driver.
...l crashes (on stock 64-bit Ubuntu kernels, currently 3.2.0-33-generic) and has been unable to stay up for longer than 12-36 hours without crashing hard and requiring manual power cycling; this system has never previously crashed. Googling around the issue brings up various things, including http://thr3ads.net/nut-upsdev/2011/01/1475908-a-nasty-kernel-oops, which make me think this could be an existing issue with the kernel/library/USB stack that's being triggered by NUT. I've tried a couple of workarounds (including running the driver with -D), but none have prevented these lock-ups. I'...

Apply a driver change
Here is the general procedure to do this: First, you must compile nut yourself on ubuntu, with the patch, then rename the existing NUT binaries to backup files and copy over your modified binaries to where the original binaries were. However, since these patches are local, if the nut package maintainer for Ubuntu releases a new package, your patches will be overwritten. To fix this, after you

Size detection/replair does not work with zlib
Hi! Usually dovecot auto detects or repairs the size of a maildir message. So I can place a message named "foo" in the cur directory and dovecot uses it. Now I tried the same with a zlib compressed message but here dovecot doesn't recognize/repair the size of the message. When I access this folder via IMAP the connection is diconnected and in dovecot logs I see the following

Intermittent TCP connect issues when using tinc 1.0.23 and IPv6
...ept for this cron app that makes a very small HTTP request every 10s. Do you know what I could be looking at to fix this? I have found these posts that suggest a similar connect() timeout issue: Page 12 of this doc: http://tinc-vpn.org/presentations/fosdem-2011/ec2_vpn_fosdem2011.pdf http://thr3ads.net/tinc-devel/2010/10/1964008-Tweaks-for-high-bandwidth-tinc I have tried disabled replay protection, setting IffOneQueue, lowering and increasing the txqueuelen, setting priority of the tinc process. None of these settings have improved things though. Any thoughts would be much appreciated....
