Issue providing seamless migrtion (3.0.24 to 3.5.6) - sambaNTPassword mystery
...a is to import the old passdb backend into the new (ldap) using: #pdbedit -e tdbsam:export.tdb on the old PDC, and then on the new PDC: #pdbedit -i tdbsam:export.tdb Everything works fine for import/export, giving me [4]. Trying to log in with this fails : "Failed to find UNIX account for thorin$". If I add manually fields needed for a UNIX account (objectClass: posixAccount, etc...), it fails on a "credentials check fails" (same as step 1 when sambaNTPassword were missing). CONCLUSION: In my opinion, it appears that sambaNTPassword is needed for workstation authentific...

Hamachi annoyances
Hi all, Got a very frustrating problem here, I've been trying to use hamachi to play a few games over it's virtual lan connection. With all the games in question, be they native or run via wine, they all seem to not be able to pick up on the hamachi network. My /etc/hosts file has the following entries. 5.86.189.163 sirbubbles-desktop 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.1.1 sirbubbles-desktop I

Hi, I am not having much luck using the form_tag with a protocol. I try the following in my view: index.rhtml <%= form_tag({:controller => ''home'',:action => ''login'',:protocol => ''https''},{:method => ''post''}) %> hoping it would generate <form action=''https://myhost.com/home/login''

Steam overlay ubuntu maverick
Hello, annoying problem here. I've recently installed Ubuntu Maverick beta 1 with wine 1.3.2. For some time now, my steam overlay has been functioning perfectly. Now, since installing Maverick, I've suddenly lost the steam overlay. The process doesn't even launch at all, and invoking it manually is impossible. Are there any known issues with Maverick, wine, steam and the overlay that

Question about how Mongrel process works with singletons
Hi, I have a controller where I access a singleton class that I use to connect to a DRbprocess DrbConnector.instance.some_method I notice that on every request, the constructor is called so it is making a new instance of this singleton. Is this normal? Thanks, Curtis

pulseaudio wine
Hi. I can confirm that pulse does indeed work quite well with wine. I've been using oss emulation and padsp together for a long time now, and I've had very few if any problems with it. I simply use Code: aoss padsp wine whatever and it's fine. I don't know if I need to use padsp after aoss after reading this thread, but it's what I've been doing. So pulse does mostly

Preventing Double Submit?
Hi, I have a sensitive submit button that does a separate credit card payment post in the controller action, which could take ~2 seconds. I want to ensure that if the user double clicks on it, that the controller won''t do two payments. Right now, I do a redirect after the payment succeeds, so a refresh of the page won''t cause a problem but I am worried about multiple requests

Bug#391935: Xen trademark might be problematic

Mirrored samba servers.
I have a customer that is using 250 gig drives for his business data. I have been using rsync to keep mirror copies of his data on a second machine. In the last 3 months I have lost 2 of four drives, the last one being the system drive. I have been doing a manual switchover. Each time rsync runs, I copy my samba conf files, passwd, shadow and group files from etc. Has anyone setup a HA

Having problems with wine mouse hack
Hi. I've recently been trying to compile and use a custom version of wine with a mouse hack designed to fix bug 6971 to do with the mouse leaving the game window and leaving my character stuck in game, not being able to move or look around, etc. This problem specifically occurs in Swat 4 and Mass Effect. The mouse hack is supposed to give me access to the registry key force_edge, in

Dawn of War alert sounds not working
Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 with wine 1.1.22, and I've got a problem with dawn of war original. When I load up a skirmish or multiplayer game, the sounds that a unit or building make when clicked on do not play. In addition, the sounds made when a unit is taking fire for example, don't play either. When I reload the skirmish game again, everything works fine. I've got no idea

Problems with 64 bit wine
Hello. Just compiled a 64 bit version of wine. I set the path to the wine I've compiled like so. PATH=/home/sirbubbles/wineversions/"my wine here"/bin:$PATH. I also do export WINEARCH=win64 before creating a new wine prefix. However, when it comes time to run a 64 bit exe like dotnet20 64 bit, it will tell me that the prefix I'm trying to use is 32 bit. Even with a brand new

Dragon Age driving me insane!
Hello, I read with disbelief on the Dragon Age wine appdb page that people actually have working dlc in Dragon Age Origins. This flies in the face of absolutely everything I've seen in my experience with the game. I've installed via Steam, installed the prerequisite windows crap through winetricks (dotnet30, physx, vcrun6, vcrun2005 vcrun2008, and everything else). I've manually
