[PATCH 0/2] fix kernel crash with macvtap on top of LRO
...reserve packets exactly (aside > > from the usual modifications by IP routers) then LRO should be disabled > > on all devices for which forwarding is enabled. > > I believe this is still undoubtedly the consensus. With virtio we are getting packets from a linux host, so we could thinkably preserve packets exactly even with LRO. I am guessing other hardware could be doing this as well. I am not sure what information would need to be preserved - could someone help clarify please? -- MST

large sysdata.rda file --- strategies?
Hi, to speed up computations in our RobASt family of packages, we use interpolation on a grid of precomputed values which we save together with the interpolating functions (results of splinefun essentially) in sysdata.rda in the R folder of our pkg. After adding grids for some more models, this file has grown considerably, even after application of tools::resaveRdaFiles. At the moment we are at

will BDC work if PDC crashes?
Hello, Will BDC work if PDC crashes or there is no connectivity between them? I assume that the servers are storing users / passwords in LDAP database; both BDC and PDC have LDAP running locally (changes in PDC are replicated to BDC). Will users be able to log into the domain / use roaming profiles with no PDC (as it crashed or link was broken), when only BDC is running? Tomek

can samba keep uid/gid/permission on a per-file-base?
Is there a trick to copy files via smbfs and keep uid/gid/permissions? Usually uid/gid/permission of a transfered file depends on the uid used when mounting the remote share. But maybe there is a trick/patch whatever ... background: I'd like to use a linux-based NAS to backup loads of files *including their permissions and uid/gid*. The NAS supports NFS (which can do what I want) but the

domain quota in sql
Hi, I have a problem with setting up quota usage tracking for domains. Problem is, that domain quota is always based on only one user in domain, the last one on whom behalf any operation was performed. To recreate this situation, one has only to perform: doveadm quota recalc -u USER on a user, and the domain quota takes the value of this user quota. Have anyone a clue what could cause this

LLVM's loop unroller & llvm.loop.parallel_accesses
Skipping the clang question for now, this had to be a loop pragma of some kind. One step back: what we really need is a way to express that memory accesses between iterations can be re-ordered. The code that's being compiled _is_ noalias, but we don't _have_ to use noalias semantics, e.g. loop parallel semantics are sufficient. What's missing is a way to express that past the llvm

can a combination of samba 4 tp4 server set as AD controiller with a samba 3.x BDC(slave) emulate a MS AD infrastructure ' well enough' right now?
Looking at the warnings about not running samba 4 (tp3) in a working environment, because of the missing file printing features make me wonder if one could get away with only using the AD controller features of samba 4 for now and have a samba 3.x DC, that has joined the samba 4 controlled Active Directory domain, handle the file and print sharing. How much of an issue would the missing samba4

cross-subvolume cp --reflink
Glück Auf! I know its been discussed more then ones, but as a user I really would like to see the patch for allowing this in the kernel. Some users tested this patch successfully for weeks or months in 2 or 3 kernel versions since then, true? I''d say by creating a snapshot, it''s nothing else in the end. More then one file or tree sharing the same data on disc, or am I wrong?

[new user] some features requests ...
Hi, After many tries, i''ve decided to give up dynamic websites, which definitely do not match my needs, and instead replace my blog by a webgen site. I''ve however some unanswered questions. 1) RSS One of the main interest of dynamic website is the ability to provide user a view to last updated pages, thanks to RSS. Is there a way for webgen to generate a RSS file from last

Automating Windows Update
Hi guys I was just wondering if there's already a way to automate the process of updating Windows to be specific XP. My idea is to mimic how a Windows server domain controller can rollout critical update on the entire domain. Can Samba do this? Thanks for any info Jan Ardosa --------------------------------- Yahoo!
