Adjusting Font Size: lattice / bwplot
Hello, If you run the following code with lattice installed: bwplot(voice.part ~ height, data=singer, xlab="Height (inches)") There will be some text in the graph e.g. Soprano 1, Soprano 2, etc - 60, 65, etc and the title: Height (Inches). How can one make the font for this text larger and/or bold? Also, is there a way to thicken or bold the lines of the box and whisker plot? Thank

Formatting panel borders in lattice package
Hello all -- I would like to thicken the borders between panels -- or more generally, all borders -- in a plot generated using lattice (specifically, levelplot). Something similar perhaps to box() function in graphics. I haven't been successful in reviewing available documentation. The problem stems from using a grayscale colorscheme that puts black colors near the borders, thus

Re: Received VNAK: resending outstanding frames?
Some more info: Just tried this on a server without using any NAT and no port forwarding, no masquerading, and I still have the same problem. So there goes that idea. I do not know what this VNAK error means. By the way, I am using the latest version (1.2.6) of asterisk, have also tried other versions with the same problem [1.0.9 (Ubuntu Breezy) and 1.0.7 (Debian Sarge) and 1.2.1 (Ubuntu

R-alpha: Two buglets and a difference
I have come across three problems in the past few days, in spell of heavy R ( version R0.50-a4/Sun Solaris2.5.1 ) use. 1. I was using lwd=2 to get thicker lines on plots for printing, but although the 'lwd' parameter works fine with x11(), the thickened lines do not print with print.plot, or by using postscript() directly. 2. Try the following, plot(1:10, -(1:10))

Interpreting lm Residuals...
I am using the lm function in R to fit several linear models to a fair-sized dataset (~160 collections of ~1000 data points each). My data have intrinsic, systematic uncertainty much greater than the measurement errors on any individual point. My thought is to use the residuals of my linear fits to quantify this intrinsic uncertainty, but I am puzzled over the correct interpretation of R's

migrating from samba 3 to samba 4
Hi all, after the news that samba 4 is now supporting user lockouts after bad password attempts we need to plan our roadmap on migrating from Samba 3 to samba 4. We currently have Samba version 3.0.7-1.3E.1 installed with (passwd) database as a backend. I would appreciate if anyone can guide me on the migration process. Our old server Centos 4.4 Samba 3.0.7 (Master browser)

Re: Bar plot with variable width (down a drill hole) - now missing intervals?
Hi again, Thanks Ted and Marc its works. But of course after pulling in in some real life data I discoverd one hitch. Often there are missing intervals. For example: from <- c(0, 1.2, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0, 25.0, 30.1, 45) to <- c(1.2, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0, 25, 30.1, 36.2, 50) intensity <- c(0, 1, 3, 2, 1, 0, 2, 5) barplot(intensity, width = -(to - from), space = 0, horiz = TRUE, ylim =

mapping drive in XP hangs
Hello list, I have been using samba (was last at 2.2.2) sucessfully for nearly two years on my solaris systems as the file server to my pcs. Recently (since last friday) my XP boxes cannot map a drive, and auto-mapped home dirs cause a huge timeout of over 15 minutes! Nothing has changed in my config file, nothing changed on the system. Just to try something, today I upgraded to 2.2.7, but still

Vanishing Globals
Gents, I have what I thought was a simple scenario, but IE seems to have found a way to make it difficult: I am creating pairs of drop-downs of times of the day (9:00, 9:15, ...) on the fly (using AJAX) and want to be able to adjust the displayed difference between them in hours onChange and store this information in a global hash. Straightforwardly enough, I simple use Event.observe to set up an

This bit of code finds several groups; all those which have entity_id''s of ''1'' OR ''2'' OR ''3'', as you would expect: ee = [ 1, 2, 3 ] groups = Group.find(:all, :conditions => "entity_id in (" + ee.join (",") + ")") But this bit of code only finds groups which have entity_id''s of

samba not logging windows user names
Hi, Is it possible that samba logs the windows username of the person that is connecting to a share. On many shares I use 'force user = testuser'. In the log I only see the messages "connect to service test as user testuser". This gives me only the username smbd should become. I also tried logging to a file which contains '%U' but this give me very often the

[ORC JIT][MLIR] GDBRegistrationListener "second attempt to perform debug registration" assert
Referring to the log messages from my previous mail… I confused myself (and probably others) by reading the “Adding MemMgr 0x55555959f440“ message as “Registering MemMgr 0x55555959f440”. Thus the address mismatch made no sense. How could we be registering a `MemMgr` address/key that does not match once we arrive in `notifyObjectLoaded` method? Answer: Because the registrations is NOT coming
