Using decoding vorebis from a Vorbis / Theora Video
...tput it to the screen. I would like to use LibVorbis to decode the audio stream. Looking at the documentation it looks like I have to use LibVorbis and not the more popular Vorbis APIs. With Theora I currently go through the below proccess Get a Packet Out LibOgg Pass the Packet to Theroa to decode Get the YUV frame to display from Theora I was hoping to do the same with LibVorbis but I am a little confused by all the methods in Codec.h. Which functions are expecting the raw packet from LibOgg and can I then simply get the raw PCM data to play, like I can with LibTheora or...

Google is acquiring On2
FYI, Google is acquiring On2: <http://www.betanews.com/article/Future-of-open-Web-video-may-change-with-Google-acquisition-of-On2/1249481107> Also on Slashdot: <http://tech.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=09/08/05/1742249> Anyone knows what, if anything, this means for Theora, open video and/or the Xiph.Org Foundation? Wild speculation: considering that they complained about the

building libtheora 1.0 on win64
I have an old conferencing app that uses theora and I'm building it for win64. libthora 1.1 builds just fine, but libtheora 1.0 has errors related to assembly code when building for x64. I've tried using 1.1, but the video does not look right -- the clients all generate their own first 3 packets instead of sending them over the network since they assume they are all on the same version

When I try to connect theora Encoder to the Matroska splitter the ConnectDirect() method returns an error Code (0x80040207) which is interpreted...

Attempts at live streaming (long)
...work as I only have 256kbps uplink from the encoding machine. I have recently had some success streaming Theora/Vorbis using oggfwd. I upgraded Icecast to 2.2.0 on the remote server and compiled libtheora1.0alpha4 to make it work with Theora streaming. The first approach I tried was to use ffmpeg2theroa from http://www.v2v.cc/~j/ffmpeg2theora/. The first problem I encountered was that I didn't have a DV video source. I had a v4l source of either a Quickcam on my laptop or a Hauppage on the actual encoding machine. I eventually got some life out of the system by using the following combination...

AW: Re: Final Post/Lack of support
...It's quite hard to get VBR audio in sync with AVI and therefore I decided to store video in ogg streams rather than to wrap ogg/vorbis in AVI. I hope that publishing the platform independent part will help people to use it on other OS, if someone is interested in that. And certainly I will add Theroa support as soon as the specs are ready. I also plan to add filters for streaming support. This will enable all DirectShow based applications to connect to ogg/vorbis live streams. And sure, these filters are and will stay free for any kind of use (Open Source and commercial). I think also it is no...

Stream Test
Hi Seeing as other people are posting streams to test, the system I have been developing has an Ogg/Vorbis/Theora stream that you can watch. I would appreciate any feedback to what players can play it and which players have problems. (I am using Icecast as the streaming server) So far I have found VideoLan plays the stream very well. MPlayer was ok, but wasn't as good at buffering.

Other extension for Ogg Theora then "ogg"
Hi, The standards for audio and video to be used by the Wikimedia projects (like Wikipedia) are Ogg Vorbis and Ogg Theora. The use of Ogg Vorbis files is growing fast. For now the use of video is still very limited. The problem is that an audio and an video file looks the same because of the same file extension. This is very annoying because you do not know what for file it is when you look at
