Focus on a sub-panel of a splom with trellis.focs() -- return coordinate of sub-panel, or names of variables therein
Hi,
I'd like to be able to generate a splom plot in R and then use my mouse to click on one of the sub-panels (panel.pairs, specifically) and have R return either the coordinates of that sub-panel, or even better, the names of the corresponding variables plotted in that sub-panel.
Here's an example to work with:
> library(lattice)
> splom(~iris[1:4], groups = Species, data = iris,

Compilation of syslinux against musl libc
Hello,
I wanted to ask if there's a reason efi/wrapper.{h,c} use __uint*_t
instead of including stdint.h and using the therein defined uint*_t
types? This breaks compilation of the efi blobs on systems with the musl
libc since that doesn't define __uint*_t types.

[LLVMdev] PIC16 backend for llvm 2.5
...its/Week-of-Mon-20081103/069593.html
I now have time to take it up again and do whatever rework is required. I saw that you have made some changes in the legalizer recently; let me know if the same discussion in the above thread still holds good and whether we can start working on it as described therein.
Thanks
- Sanjiv

Survival-Analysis: How to get numerical values from survfit (and not just a plot)?
Hi!
I came across R just a few days ago since I was looking for a toolbox
for cox-regression.
I?ve read
"Cox Proportional-Hazards Regression for Survival Data
Appendix to An R and S-PLUS Companion to Applied Regression" from John Fox.
As described therein plotting survival-functions works well
(plot(survfit(model))). But I?d like to do some manipulation with the
survival-functions before plotting them e.g. dividing one
survival-function by another.
survfit() only returns an object of the following structure
n events median 0.9LCL 0.9UCL

Help with customizing a histogram figure
...:
http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=55
Note that each histogram has a tracing line that summarizes the histogram.
In summary, I'd like to modify the code above to (1) get rid of the dead spaces
on the x-axis, and (2) add lines that traces to each of the histograms therein
(all on the same graph).
I am very bad at using R graphics at this point, so I need some pretty serious
hand-holding. Exact code that gets the job done would be most useful for me.
Thanks very much in advance!
Sincerely,

doing many commands within R
...;list_of_names",n=-1)
for (i in 1:100) {
k <- function(namelist[i])
write(k,file="outputfile",append=TRUE)
}
Next, I tried automating the R commands by making a loop. Within the
loop I called the R-script. Within ecery single loop R called the R-script
and performs the commands therein (or is supposed to perform it) on
the actual data file.
After a loop finished, I tried appending the output to an output file.
The problem is that R gives an error message saying that it cannot
open the input files.
What can I do?
Thanks, Matthew

RFC 2822 - message-id
...use of this, all the messages are forever
different.
All mail is delivered from postfix and will be in the future.
But I'm asking which of these syntaxes is correct or if there is a right/wrong
way of writing the headers? RFC2822 doesn't come right out and say it, but all
the examples therein are "Message-ID".
RFC 822 says they are all the same.
Both?

Using plotmath expressions in lattice key text
...deed,
if I assign the above to (a list!) test,
plot(0:1,0:1)
text(.5,.5,test[[1]])
produces the correctly formatted plotmath expression. However, note that I
have to use test[[1]] to extract the expression; test[1] doesn't work (it is
a list containing an expression, not an expression) -- and therein may lie
the problem. For if I try to use the above expression as the lab component
of the text component in key, e.g. by
xyplot(....,
key = list( text = list(lab =
lapply(delta,function(d)bquote(10%+-%.(d))),...),...)
I get an error:
Error in fun(key = list(text = list(lab = list(10 %+-% 1, 10...

[LLVMdev] inttoptr and basicaa
BasicAA treats it conservatively if used on its own. It will return
mayalias for the two pointers.
TBAA operates based on the guarantee that pointers to different types
cannot alias (think C's strict aliasing rules).
Therein lies its power but also its danger, that is, nothing prevents the
programmer to write code that violates these rules (That's why we have
-fno-strict-aliasing).
So when basica gives up returning mayalias we query tbaa, which will return
- based on strict aliasing rules of our language - noalias...

Sigh....ok once more with feeling
The firewall didnt help matters. I think its FUBAR and I need to
reformat anyways, so ill reformat and reinstall and put fresh SAMBA up,
on Mandrake 9.0.
The system has 2 NICs and NET_MASQ shares internet to the XP machine.
Therein it acts as a DHCP server and has a firewall. I will open 139
from the start next time.

help in R 2.9.x for R 2.10.x packages
...yourself
I can then get to
file:///C:/R/R-2.9.2/library/TeachingDemos/html/00Index.html
but then all the links there give Not Found, e.g.,
file:///C:/R/R-2.9.2/library/TeachingDemos/html/HWidentify.html
and, indeed, C:\R\R-2.9.2\library\TeachingDemos\html contains

All the links therein are to .html files in the same directory, so of course
are wrong.

...do hope that I can get this to work with rsync. I do
prefer not reinventing the wheel, but it is starting to seem simpler
to me if I were to just write a Perl script that would walk two directory

all of the regular files found therein.

Scripting a directory change on CentOS
...produce the same
effect as issuing this from the shell:
cd ./very/long/path/to/obscurely/titled/project/directory
I cannot seem to find anything that directly addresses this, other than to
point out that shell scripts run in their own copy of the shell
interpreter and so anything done to the PWD therein is local to the
duration of the script. I could create a logical link from my home
directory I suppose, but I desire a scripted solution.
I really do not wish to program a utility to do this and I cannot believe
that many people have not already addressed this desire with a straight
forward answe...
