updating for XSA-108 -
So... it is theorized that XSA-108 is why amazon is rebooting. Is there any way for me to know when this update hits CentOS5 or xen4centos6? Do we know that it is *not* included in one of the centos patches?

r square values for independent variables in multiple linear regr ession model -- newbie
Hello Could you please suggest a way to find out the r square values for each independent variable while using "lm" for developing a multiple linear regression model. Thank you avneet "I have no data yet. It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories instead of theories to suit facts." ~ Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Linux vs NT: a new test
Don't know how many ppl saw/read the following: http://www.zdnet.com/pcweek/stories/news/0,4153,1015266,00.html One of the comments on Slashdot was the question as to how well 4.4lite would have done in the same tests, as they "theorize" that alot of the problems revolve around Linux's IP stack... Now if only we had a working MMAP, we'd be all set... Marc G. Fournier

[LLVMdev] InstCombine adds bit masks, confuses self, others
...uncombined... Certainly the combining effects seem particularly important to capture because we'll only look through a finite number of shifts to determine demanded bits, etc. I would expect that, even with the fix, demanded bits might need adjusting to cope with the pattern. But this is all theorizing. =] The actually regressions will likely tell more. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Package 'R2HTML'
I recently learnt how to use Sweave which is a wonderful tool After which i also tried to use R2HTML as it would allow many of my colleagues who dont use latex to be able to use and edit my work. I was unable to make it work and couldnt find a way to implement it. I got some errors. I wonder if you could help me with it i have a windows 2000 OS and the version of R is "R version 1.9.1,

Making requests in order
...tsteprequest, with fields: id, project_id, project_step_id. I was thinking that when I request the next step be done I would have the app check to see if the numbers matched up, thus either allowing, or disallowing me from making the request. The question is this: is this the best way to do it (theorizing that I wouldn''t have a form showing me what had been completed and what hadn''t) or is there a better way. Thank you all for your ideas and input. Sincerely, Robert Dempsey -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

* dialing before line is open?
Hi guys, I've had a sporadic problem recently with one of my users on our POTS line. About 1/3 of the time he dials a number (usually from a speeddial on his phone, I think), he'll get some phone company message (from the outside) about how the call could not be completed as dialed or something like that. However, the logs (and the console) always show the correct dialed digits.

[LLVMdev] InstCombine adds bit masks, confuses self, others
On Apr 16, 2012, at 3:30 PM, Chandler Carruth <chandlerc at google.com> wrote: > Does sinking these into the DAGCombine layer help? How much does it break? I tried disabling just the InstCombine transforms that hide shl instructions behind bitmasks. Even though DAGCombine has the same transforms, it causes some pretty bad regressions: External/SPEC/CINT95/147_vortex/147_vortex

OpenSSH 3.4p1 and OpenSSL
Ladies and Gentlemen; I have multiple systems where all I can find is the OpenSSH 3.4p1 installed without the OpenSSL libraries. I have other systems that have OpenSSH3.4p1 with OpenSSL 0.9.6e and other systems with OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 and OpenSSL 0.9.7b installed. Namespaces and S4 Generics
...ric("image") [1] "image" > showMethods(image) Function: image (package graphics) x="ANY" x="matrix.csr" And -- even more irritating -- if I require(Matrix) then the generic is created together with my method and all the Matrix methods. At the risk of theorizing without data, I suspect that this has something to do with NAMESPACES, and I have tried to follow the setup for Matrix by having: importFrom("graphics", image) exportMethods("image") but clearly I'm still missing some crucial aspect. Any suggestions would be most welcome....

How can I disable Rails 3.1's ActiveRecord Query Caching?
Hey guys, As most of you know, Rails 3.1 introduces query caching for ActiveRecord. Great change all-in-all, but for those of us with IT department mandates for using MySQL (yeah, yeah, I know...), it''s kind of a mixed bag. I need to disable query caching in a project I''m building based on 3.1. I''ve tried a couple different approaches, both without any success. I

extending qemu-dm
Hello, I''m working on a project and trying to pass through a PS/2 mouse + keyboard to a hardware VM. I''ve played with numerous things (including the obvious, using USB), but after finding no alternative, it seems like the best way to approach this would be to modify qemu-dm to pipe through data from /dev/input/eventwhatever to the keyboard/mouse that qemu provides (and then

ices0 config for high and low bandwidth users
...9;ve got several static playlists of mp3's that i'd like to offer. Offering them for high bandwidth cable dsl users works fine, but i'd like to give them out to dialups as well. Currently whenever a dialup user connects the stream1 plays for about two seconds then goes sluggish. I'm theorizing that i'm giving to much for the user to handle over the modem. Below is what i have a config, but i am uncertain as to the proper setting of bitrate, samplerate, and chanels for the dialup user on stream2. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Joining Windows 10 Domain Member to Samba AD/DC
...that source is a problem is eliminated as a variable. After the 'w32tm /resync' I got "the computer did not resync because no time data was available." And the w32tm /query /source is back to "Local CMOS Clock". This is definitely a problem on the Windows end. I'm theorizing that perhaps the switch of domain names from mail.hprs.local to dc1.hprs.locl could be the problem. My next test will be to re-provision my DC with the old domain name, restore the Windows back to when it was a member of that domain and see if things are different. As I keep mentioning, this all w...

Bad characters/fonts or something in R Help
Hello, I am experiencing problems viewing the help files in R. The easiest way to describe this is to just post an image. You can see what I'm talking about here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/matthewbk/4344722268/ If I copy and paste the "weird" characters, they show up like they should. Am I missing a specific font? problem with unix extensions on Adaptec SNAP Server (Redhat 8)
I've recently purchased an Adaptec SNAP server to serve as a central file server for a 2500 machine, 7000 user network. My goal is for this server to serve as a backend file store to a number of other servers that the client machines will communicate with. In particular, I would like to have my current file server (which runs samba 3.0.10 in kernel 2.6.10-gentoo-r6) mount a share on the

ADS 2008 configuration
Hi, I am Inderjit, and have some issues with configuration of samba with ADS 2008. I am able to connect to ADS 2008, but command "getent group" doesn't show always the output with ADS groups. We have more that 25000 users and domain controller is not located at same location. Could you please give me a hints or suggestions, what can be changed to solve this issue. Regards
