sig11 with test36/37 on some emails
Sometimes I'll get an email from a luser which will cause the POP3 daemon to sig11. The email "appears" to be legal. The sig11s only happen on specific emails, and once I remove the emails from the server, the rest can be downloaded. I gzipped the email, and its at http://theapt.org/bogusemail.gz. While this example is international spam, the sig11s happen with real emails too. -- Entropy isn't what it used to be.

Support of M-IMAP?
I was looking at some new mobile phones, and apparently there is a form of IMAP that is optimized for mobiles called M-IMAP. Its not a rush (since I'm not even sure the phones will be out before Q2), but it'd be a cool thing to have. The spec is in the following PDF. http://www.3gpp2.org/Public_html/specs/X.S0016-311_v1.0_022404.pdf -- Klein bottle for sale ... inquire within.

best choice of user database file to work with postfix?
I'm setting up a Postfix and Dovecot combination. What I want to do is have a user database that (1) is not running from some engine (so not LDAP or SQL or such) ... and (2) is completely disassociated from system users (e.g. most email users are not in /etc/passwd and most /etc/passwd users are not email users). Ideal would be a one-file solution, which can be managed by text editing or

Maildir unreliability
Looks like maildir can't be used very realiably without quite a lot of locking. Writing and scanning the directory would have to be locked, but reading wouldn't (as long as the file hasn't been renamed which would require scanning to find it). So much for "no locks needed".. The problem is that opendir()/readdir() may temporarily not return some files if there has been

Problem with emails larger than 10k
I cannot download emails that are larger than 10k. I can download them fine with test32. I am running test35 on OpenBSD/macppc -current. I am downloading the files with Sylpheed-Claws 0.9.9claws on OpenBSD/macppc -current (different machines), over pop3-ssl on IPv6. Problem still occurs with IPv4. On the large files, the download hangs at 4.0k. Multiple small emails work fine. -- A day

disconnect after too many errors?
There are a couple of jerks that are tying to dictionary attack my email server, and one of the vectors is pop3/imap logins. Something I would like to do in dovecot, but can't seem to find, is the ability to disconnect after a certain number of errors. The vast majority of my users (i.e. me) don't hand-type POP3 or IMAP transactions, but when we do, we know how to spell things

Dialtone when automatically picking up.
I'm in the process of setting up a 'phone tree', and are running into some problems. My goal is for users to dial a phone number, the asterisk system picks it up, plays the greeting, and users can type whatever they want into the system. What actually happens is users dial the phone number, asterisk picks up and additionally goes off-hook on another line, plays the greeting and
