Win10 cannot access linux shares
Hi,
When I upgraded from Fedora 22 to Fedora 25 my Win10 box lost the
ability to connect to shares on the F25 box. The F25 box can still
access shares on the Win10 box.
F25 is currently running Samba 4.5.13 and I have a simple workgroup
setup. Let's call the Win10 box 'fred' and the F25 box 'ethel'.
When fred tries to access a share on ethel, I am prompted for username

Update Samba4 version
Dear,
I have three installations of Samba 4, version 4.4.5.
Being two DC's and a file server (domain member).
I would like to update Samba to the latest version.
The current installation was done by compiling the Samba packages.
Could someone tell me if I can upgrade directly to the latest version available?
Should I compile the new package to overlap the previous version?
Thank you!

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS after removing a DC and WERR_BADFILE when trying to remove broken DC

This sounds like a very inconvenient way to update.
The --remove-other-dead-server should be used only for desaster
situations if there is no chance that the DC can demote itself.
That's the way how to update Samba:

> So… How the fuck do I recover from this? What's even wrong?
1.) Stop using such words on the lists.
2.) Calm down.
4.) Verify that the clients use a DNS that is able to resolve
the AD DNS zones.
3.) Check if there are some of the DNS entries of the removed DCs
left. For exam...

dc1 - Ubuntu 12.04.2 - Samba: 2:4.0.6-8
dc2 - Ubuntu 12.04.3 - Samba: 2:4.0.6-8
I'm trying upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04.3, Samba: 2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.10
The documentation
(https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Updating_Samba#The_Update_Process) recommends
updating in place, but the standard practice I have to work around is to create
a new server and decommission old servers. In my test instance, I'm trying to do
this by introducing dc3 already at the OS and Samba version listed above. This

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS after removing a DC and WERR_BADFILE when trying to remove broken DC
Situation: Trying to upgrade Samba from 4.1 to 4.5 without disruption
too much by adding new DCs and demoting old ones.
After bringing online the first 4.5 DC, I ran `demote
--remove-other-dead-server=` on that DC to remove one of the old 4.1 DCs
(held no FSMO roles). That seemed to run fine (the DC had been offline
for a few weeks at that point and I didn't want to restore it just for
