sip tls problem
Hi all,
i have had sip TLS with an own signed certificate (using the
ast_tls_cert script) running on asterisk-1.8.8 - i then have updated
to 1.8.9.3 - and now i get the message "FILE * open failed!"
I have already recreated the certificates with the script - but still no luck...
Does anyone here know the source of the problem ?
best regards,

Improper listening on IMAPS
I want Dovecot handling IMAPS.
/etc/dovecot.conf:
protocols = imaps
imaps_listen = *
ssl_disable = no
ssl_cert_file = /etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem
ssl_key_file = /etc/ssl/private/dovecot.pem
The problem is that Dovecot is not listening on 993 port, or there's
something listening on 993, but it does not introduce itself.
There's no problem if Dovecot listens on 143 (IMAP).

business ssl certs for centos www and/or email servers
...ssl certs, I haven't had to "purchase" and do it "myself" for some time. i
always had someone else dealing with it.
I am wondering what you folks on the list are using on your centos web and
mail servers
:-)
Are you making your own or are you purchasing them from godaddy, thawte,
geotrust, verisign, others?
What is the best and the least expensive implementation that most browsers
and other clients are happy with without phone calls to admins or the NOC or
other problems?
Thanks for your feedback in advance.

The certificate was listed as valid from June 9, 2008 so I guess the old one
expired?

SSL and certificate authorities.
Hi all.
Usually for in-house use and SSL I would just generate a self-signed
certificate because most clients either ignore it or only ask the first
time the account is configured.
In terms of offering the service to our customers is there any value of
getting someone like thawte or instantssl to sign a certificate for
imaps/pop3s/smtp?
Also, is there a configuration directive for dovecot to add the issuers
ca bundle similar to apache's SSLCACertificateFile?
And thanks for writing such a kick-arse imap server. It blows courier
out of the water!

reviewboard.asterisk.org SSL Trust Failure
...org. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.
Websites prove their identity via certificates, which are issued by certificate authorities. Most browsers no longer trust certificates issued by GeoTrust, RapidSSL, Symantec, Thawte, and VeriSign. reviewboard.asterisk.org uses a certificate from one of these authorities and so the website’s identity cannot be proven.
I see that the cert is signed by RapidSSL

question about changing certificate
...keys for my dovecot(version 1.2.9).
When I set up the server (unbuntu lts 10.4.4) I did it with a self-signed certificate. I can't remember exactly what I did, just that I followed the wiki and it worked fine =)
Now I have to change the certificate because a friend bought an official one (from thawte) and I'm a bit stumped.
As dovecot can use supposedly use the same file for both key and cert file, I copied the new certificate to /etc/ssl/private/dovecot.pem and to /etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem.
next I get from managesieve-login, pop3-login and imap-login the following log entries:

Updated my Dovecot certificate for the first time

$ grep -F cert traceout

/1: stat("/etc/openssl/certs/cbf06781.0", 0xFFBF8E54) Err#2 ENOENT

Your output will be different of course. The first load is the default
pre-loaded root CAs (Thawte, etc.) supplied by OpenSSL, and the second,
etc. are chained certificate lookups. You would replace the missing
cert with your own self-signed public pem file. e.g.
cp mypub.pem /etc/openssl/certs/cbf06781.0
For Windows, I don't know where it fetches it from.

Unknown setting: ssl_ca_file
I am using 0.99.10.7-1 on Debian, and I'm having some trouble with SSL. I
purchased a certificate from Thawte and I can't figure out how to tell
dovecot about the CA cert. Adding ssl_ca_file to my configuration produces
"Unknown setting: ssl_ca_file" on dovecot startup.
Postfix has a smtpd_tls_CAfile argument and that part is working fine.
Is this a Debian-specific problem or is ssl_ca_fil...
