Need IP on failed logins in logfile
...auth:10 winbind:2 lanman:10
I have a script that scans this logfile for message like the following:
auth_check_password_recv: sam_ignoredomain authentication for user [HPRS\thisuser] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER
auth_check_password_recv: sam_ignoredomain authentication for user [HPRS\thatuser] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
Usually, these are not a big deal as they are the results of a local domain user mistyping
either their login ID or password. However, occasionally the attempts are clearly outsiders
trying to break in.
Is there some way to get the logger to show the...

Suggestions? Multiple servers/storages one domain
Hi,
currently we do have one samba3x-3.5.10-0.109.el5_8 RH EL 5.8 PDC
authenticating by our central LDAP server.
This PDS also hosts the central fileserver storage for all our +- 600
users, some group shares and roaming profiles.
The clients are OS X, Win XP and Win 7. We hope to have all XP 'killed'
by end of the year.
Furthermore we do have a second stand alone samba server for some

troubles printing from windows98 to a samba printer
Hello I have this problem with printing to a HP Laser Jet 4L set up on my
linux box which is the local samba server for the intranet. I can only
print as root or as a user admin user = thatuser.
I need to be able to set a password for the printer and only those users
to use the printer who know the password. Or a similar solution.
As ordinary user Windows98 says:
