tftpd32
...ut a network boot strategy for a mixed network (NT/2K based server, booting linux clients). As I'm running (not by choice) Windows based servers, I have been trying to use Philippe Jounins excellent tftp server. Have you had any reports of problems with the latest version of his server (v2.51 tftpd32j.zip) ? I was getting an error about the server not supporting tsize when trying to get the config file. I have gone back to v2.21 (tftpd32i.zip) which works fine. I'm using the latest version of syslinux (v2.00, 25-Oct-2002). I've sent an email to Philippe as well, so this is probably us...

tftpd server
Hi In the pxelinux page, is referred that the tftpd server from http://tftpd32.jounin.net as working with pxelinux. However, from the tests I've made, it seems that the 'tsize' option is not supported. Anyone has knowledge of a working TFTPD server that runs on Windows NT4? p.s. it can be shareware, I just want to test it with NT4, I have had success with the...

R: Re: R: Re: PXEbooting very slow
I made other tests. It's not a matter of Win98 versus WinXP, things change passing from tftpd32 v310beta to v3.33. This version seems to work fine, but the logs show problems. Here is the complete log with pxelinux 3.82-pre4: Rcvd DHCP Discover Msg for IP 0.0.0.0, Mac 00:1E: 68:A6:9E:A9 [05/06 18:24:43.816] DHCP: proposed address 192.168.1.20 [05/06 18:24:43.816] 1356 Request 2 not proces...

...Hi, I want to boot a VIA EPIA Motherboard from a Windows XP OS. It's a PXE compliant card. I do a isolinux cd to boot on it, but i'm thinking that it can be more usable in my case if i can boot from lan. I can use a linux server. I'm using a solution base on Magik DHCP server & Tftpd32. PXEbooting very slow
I'm using pxelinux.0 version 3.81 (3.80 had similar problems) with tftpd32. It is very slow in loading "default" file; tftpd32 shows it continuously sends this file together with menu.c32, but pxelinux.0 keeps on requesting for, say, 5 seconds. Occasionally it is also slow in checking the other possible config files (those based on mac address): it spends so...

Debugging memdisk loaded via pxelinux
...ting... Invalid system disk Replace the disk, and then press any key Aside from re-keying all the information I can see on the PXE client/target identified as "[...PXE diagnostic information...]", is there some way to log this data so that I can cite it here? My DHCP/tftpd server is tftpd32 from tftpd32.jounin.net, running under Windows XP Pro SP3. I'm using a distribution of syslinux v4.0.4 (from which I obtained pxelinux.0 and memdisk) I found via Google (since the syslinux site is down). Regards, Mike

pxelinux and WDS server for Vista
I am testing BDD 2007 and WDS on a Windows 2003 Server. I have a PXE Server with tftpd32 and pxelinux boot. Is it possible to have a menu entry that chain the first pxe booting(pxelinux) to the WDS Server which is on a different computer because I can't install WDS on the TFTP pxelinux. I have testing this entry: LABEL TEST WDS kernel ipadress::pxeboot.0 but the first server al...

Hi, I have a Polycom 501 that is currently unusable because I started a firmware and sip upgrade that I can't complete. The Ubuntu box address is set static at: 192.168.1.101. PXELinux and Boot Disk Failure on Dell Optiplex 740
...boot the 740s over PXE. On Friday, I had changed the order of some items in the pxelinux.cfg\default file, but the issue didn't go away when I restored the old menu from backup. I also restored the boot image files from a known good backup, updated our PXELinux and Memdisk files to 3.73, and TFTPD32 to version 3.29. We also went back to our old 3Com Boot Services PXE deployment, and the Optiplex 740s were able to boot the two images for Ghost. Is there anything that I'm missing here? Is there anything else I need to try? Thank you, Sean Massey Desktop Administrator Faith Technologies

[PATCH] Compilation of tftp-hpa's Git HEAD with no IPv6, and misc
This patch does two things: a) makes tftp-hpa to compile on systems with no IPv6 support (there were some IPv6 macros used unconditionally); b) removes a stray binary character, which was annoying. By the way, I see that 'configure' tests for <winsock.h> and <winsock2.h>, but Winsock isn't actually used. What's the reason? diff --git a/config.h b/config.h index

PXE2.2 does not work, PXE2.0 does
Hi, We have been using PXELinux 2.0 for a few weeks now. So far so good, but recently we found out that newer 3com network cards with PXE2.2 wont boot. When flash these cards with an older PXE2.0 than everything works okay. Anyone else having this problem? Vincent

pxeLinux on an Intel SE7501WV2 with 82546EB
All: I have recently discovered pxeLinux/memdisk and have been using them without alot of pain in a somewhat unconventional setup.. Win2k DHCP server and tftpd32 on WinXP. Don't throw rocks at me - you use what you've got. Anyways, thanks to HPA for a great tool. I am running into an odd little problem now for which I was wondering if there might be some remedy. On a particular motherboard (Intel SE7501WV2 with 82546EB onboard controller, latest m...

PXE Question(s)
To any and all; I am attempting to build a Ubuntu PXE server, and have run into some problems. Here's where things stand at the moment: DHCP is working just fine. TFTP is sort of working. It wants to hand off a boot image, but... I always get the "cannot find kernel: linux" prompt. Typing in the name of the boot image, in my case, floppy.img, causes the image to get passed to the

PXELINUX - no boot file found
PXELinux from a DHCP server - read the docs - couldnt be simpler. I'm afraid its beaten me, no matter what I do I always get the same result at the client side "PXE-E53: No boot file found" For the life of me I cannot see what I'm doing wrong and would appreciate any assistance in trying to diag. RedHat 7.3 - (I know its old but I have to accomodate other dependancies) dhcp
