I installed tfpt-hpa
Hi...
I''m interested to find out how many people are running tftp-hpa versus
atftpd.
I''m almost a bit surprised in how many people seem to be using
tftp-hpa; for modern Unix systems (including Linux), I would in general
assume atftpd to be a better choice.
If you have tried both and specifically chosen (as opposed to "it was
already installed", etc.) I''d

cisco 7940 firmware upgrade
I have been trying for sometime to upgrade this phone to either sip, or the
latest sccp (at this point I don't care) with no success. It has an sccp
image (don't know the version off the top of my head) that is incompatible
with chan_sccp. When I boot up the phone, it asks the tfpt server for the
.tlv file, then the SEP<mac> file which it receives successfully. It then
asks for English_United_States/7960-font.xml which I don't have, nor can I
find a sample of this file. If I send an empty file, the phone says
something like Invalid Glyph and then asks for

UEFI PXE Difficulties
...ms. Another one: as of version 6.03, memdisk has support for BIOS,
not UEFI.
So, there are several possible reasons for your kernel not to boot in
UEFI systems with Syslinux 6.03.
Sometimes the hardware (or its firmware) might play a role. Updating
your firmware might help.
In some cases, the TFPT/DHCP options might be inadequate.
In other words, you would need to be more specific about the behavior
you are seeing (i.e. provide more details).
Regards,
Ady.

UEFI PXE Difficulties
Im a long time PXE boot fan. I use it for wimbooting windows PE, linux
images via http, and memtest mainly.
Ive got it nicely customised with my own graphics etc.
Then UEFI booting came along. Till now ive been content simply setting
bios's to CSM mode and doing my thing....
Ive had another go at EFI PXE booting and can now get the menus and grahics
from syslinux working, but I cannot get

Thanks for the quick answer.
Somehow the PXE firmware manages to load PXELinux
properly, it's the pxelinux that can't load anything
(of course, using the PXE stack).
As far as I can tell, the tfpt transfer for pxelinux.0
starts with the same "code 6" from the server, followed
by a "packet 0 ack" from the client. Another difference is that the
pxelinux.0 load uses the proper tftp server IP,
but the "cfg" load does a full broadcast. Could that be
the problem?

Cloned Centos Boxes - First Run to run again?
I need to build a bank of 12 centos boxes, for an experiment I'm doing.
I don't want to install centos 12 times, I'm using virtual box across
three machines, how can I get the first run scripts to run again to that
the box is reconfigured on it's next boot.
I want each box to appear like a fresh unique install.

PXELinux Q(s) :)
...'t have ext3 support.
That's a problem. So, I went ahead and built the new kernel, and it ain't
working.
Specifically:
The new server comes up, talks to the DHCP server and gets its IP. No problem
there. It then does the PXELinux thing, grabbing the kernel and the
initrd.gz via TFPT. Again, no problem.
It uncompresses and boots the kernel, and does well...until the kernel panics.
For some reason it just can't seem to find 'init'. It's in the initrd, as is
everything else that currently works just fine using the 2.2 kernel. And to
help troubleshoot, I can...

GXP-2000 fw 1.0.1.13 and NTP
Hi all
Slightly OT but I know a lot of GS experts hang out here - I just upgraded a
GXP-2000 to firmware 1.0.1.13 to try out the BLF functionality with Asterisk
(which so far works as expected), but as a side-effect the phone won't sync
with an NTP server - I've tried different server names (time.nist.gov and
pool.ntp.org) and IPs in the config, but it refuses to update the time on

Elaborate
They start to load and the system reboots.

Convert ISOLINUX into PXELINUX
Hi,
I work on a solution for school including Eyeos and thinclient, iwant
to convert syplinux ISO into syplinux Pxeboot, is there a way to
do that ?
Actually i'm using PXELINUX, When I boot the SYPLINUX.GZ (extract from
the iso) I get this error :
VFS: Cannit open root device "<NULL>" or unknown-block(3,5)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option

Cisco 7970
I currently have two Cisco phones, a 7960 and 7970. The 7960 has a SIP OS
on it and the 7970 has a SCCP.
When the 7960 powers up it loads OS79XX.TXT, SIPDefault.cnf,
SIP000E3875266C.cnf, RINGLIST.DAT, and dialplan.xml. I have a Cisco
SmartNet agreement with the phone so I have access to download the firmware.
I recently purchased a Cisco 7970 phone and was in the process of
