Samba4 Domain Member Server "Getent show diferents UID"
Rowland: I'll use this email from now, the other does not work well. A few years ago around 2. We did everything that could be used for NIX and it worked. The main DC_AD had been provisioned without rfc2307 and we did later. The problem is that at that time by not having infrastructure had to be used as fileserver and this was a problem because all directories are UID of 3000000 onwards.

[OT] Open source statistical analysis in the news
...w.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,51106,00.html describing recent testimony by Patrick Ball, the deputy director of the science and human rights program at the American Association for the Advancement of Science, at the war crimes trial of Slobodan Milosevic, the former Yugoslav president. Mr. Ball testified on a statistical analysis of the patterns of Albanian deaths and displacement in Kosovo that casts doubt upon Mr. Milosevic's claim that it was NATO bombing and not Serbian forces that caused the deaths and displacement. Mr. Ball makes the point that it is important that he used Open Sourc...

TTSSH and the SSH trademark
Hi everyone. I want to point out some facts about TTSSH that may be relevant to the claims of trademark infringement by OpenSSH. I'll confine my opinions to another message :-). I released my product, which has always been named "Teraterm SSH" and is usually abbreviated to "TTSSH", to the public in May 1998. TTSSH is a free software Windows client for the SSH1 protocol.

NuFone International Calls
Does anybody know how to do an international call using NuFone. I realise this isn't really the place to ask, but NuFone appears to be closed for the weekend and would like to have a try at this before tomorrow. I assumed it would be '011' for an international line followed by country code but that doesn't seem to work. I am getting: -- Executing

TDM400P (TDM22P) and aux power.
I need to ask, to refresh, is the aux power connector on the TDM400P card *only* to power the ringer on any analog phones/devices on the system? Can I still use this board, to "terminate" POTS lines and use all SIP Phones? Due to circumstances, I end up with a 1u server that has no aux power connectors available. I "have to" use this server, so am considering abandoning

DWR Vs Prototype/Scriptaculous
Hello Everyone, Does anyone have any insight into the DWR library (http://getahead.ltd.uk/dwr/index)? I want to know the pros/cons of using DWR Vs Prototype/Scriptaculous libraries. I am a great fan of the prototype/scriptaculous combination and have been working with them for the last 3-4 months but for some reasons I have been asked to look into DWR. Due to it''s tight integration

Locking with M$-Access 97
This is a REAL problem on the way to world domination ;-) PROBLEM: since we moved a MS-Access MDB (16 Meg) to samba, it ist killing queries more than twice a day, loosing records, ... It seems the application has no chance to recognice locked records and inform the user. with smbstatus I get one locking entry for the first user accessing the database (like: DENY_NONE RDWR), the second is not

Dovecot quota and Postfix smtpd_recipient_restrictions?
Hi Friends, a doubt: I would like to enable (the same) quota (count) for all (virtual)users, on Debian Stretch, Postfix 3.1.8, Dovecot 2.2.27, and is not clear for me if I need to tell Postfix to communicate with the service in /etc/postfix/main.cf as here: smtpd_recipient_restrictions = ... check_policy_service inet:mailstore.example.com:12340 My current Postfix

Choosing O/S for dom0 host with xen 3.2 - best option?
Hi, I (just) posted something similar to this on the fedora-xen list so apologies if some of you see it twice. I''m about to commission a new dom0 host to host multiple dom0 instances for testing purposes. I''m currently trying to decide what platform to use. I''ve previously used FC6 and CentOS5 as Dom0 hosts. I''d like to be able to use Xen 3.2, and I see

Part II Re: read.ssd {foreign} (Reading a permanent SAS d ataset into an R data frame)
Scot, Thanks for the additional information. On further reflection... whether one uses SAS PROC EXPORT or uses a SAS LIBNAME yourfile XPORT 'yourpathname'; statement, an intermediate file is created in either case. As far as experience tells me now, PROC EXPORT is a far superior choice, because variable names do not get truncated and you only have to deal with reading in a simple text

Samba4 Domain Member Server "Getent show diferents UID"
I go to answer all, here I go. Have you given your users a uidNumber attribute ? Not all, but im set it in my user and not work. Have you given 'Domain Users' (at least) a gidNumber attribute ? Not all, but im set it in my user and not work. If you have done the above, have you run 'net cache flush' on the DC ? Yes :-( Is PAM set up correctly on the DC and domain member ?
