belongs_to causing NoMethodError exceptions ... ?
...39;'##'' preceding them -- those are
alternate statements that avoid using the .pending_user attribute. If
you comment out the belongs_to :pending_user and use the alternate
statements (which just work with the pending_user_id field),
everything seems to work fine.
