Oplock question
...t, I have a question. Is it the responsibility of Windows to flush the data and respond to the oplock_break request, or does Windows pass the request on to the program that's running and request that IT flush and/or close the file? Here's what I'm running into. We have two computers (tenison and iee2) both with F-Prot antivirus software running on them and a communication directory on the server for administration purposes. ...will (just have to reinstall 2.0). Are there any ideas about how to fix this (is it a bug, or is it my configuration???) It seems strange to me that 1.9.18pl10 works fine and 2.0 doesn't with the same smb.conf (minus the minor unrelated changes that we made for 2.0) Any ideas? Thanks! Very strange, couldn't stat ".": another question...
Should I be concerned about getting the [1998/12/18 07:15:07, 0] lib/doscalls.c:dos_GetWd(405) Very strange, couldn't stat "." error in the logs? I've noticed that it is occuring in some of the log files for users and not in others. I've looked in the source as to where this is occuring and added a path=%s\n",path to the DEBUG line to maybe see which UNIX directory

Samba and logrotate from Redhat
Has anyone had any success in getting Samba to correctly restart logging to the log files with the default logrotate setup (or even a modified one) from RedHat? The default setup is to move the files to another location, create a new file for Samba to fill, then send the daemons a HUP signal. I've tried some of the options that can be used in the logrotate.d/samba file (nocreate and
