Recovery of RAIDZ with broken label(s)
Hi all, I have a 5 drive RAIDZ volume with data that I''d like to recover. The long story runs roughly: 1) The volume was running fine under FreeBSD on motherboard SATA controllers. 2) Two drives were moved to a HP P411 SAS/SATA controller 3) I *think* the HP controllers wrote some volume information to the end of each disk (hence no more ZFS labels 2,3) 4) In its "auto

eigen anomaly
This is undoubtedly a bug, but I doubt that it is really down to R. Synopsis: a certain matrix causes eigen(symmetric=TRUE) to produce NaN's in some of the returned eigenvectors. This happens using SuSe 8.2 Professional and the precompiled R rpm (happens in both 1.8.1 and 1.7.1). I don't see it under Windows. To reproduce the bug: The matrix (75 by 75, about 45K) is in

eigen of a real pd symmetric matrix gives NaNs in $vector (PR#7989)
I would presume this is another manifestation of what I reported (reproduced below) on 2003-12-01. cajo.terbraak at wur.nl wrote: >Full_Name: cajo ter Braak >Version: 2.1.1 >OS: Windows >Submission from: (NULL) (137.224.10.105) > > ># I would like to attach the matrix C in the Rdata file; it is 50x50 and comes >from a geostatistical problem (spherical covariogram) >

Alioth Subversion repository freeze
Dear developers, thanks to Charles (Lepple) and ESR hard work, we are now able to finalize our migration from Subversion to Git, on Alioth. As of now, our Subversion repository on Alioth<https://alioth.debian.org/scm/?group_id=30602>is FROZEN! Any new svn commit may simply be discarded, so beware! Most active developers are currently using github, as a temporary mean. But if you have any

writing tools that use light-markup
let's talk about writing tools that use markdown (or more broadly, another form of light-markup)... to begin with, there is the markdown "dingus"... from a demo perspective, it has been _fantastic_. it has provided interested observers a quick idea about the simplicity and the power of markdown. as a writing tool, it's a bit clunky; it will work, yes, but i'd doubt many

Creating two new variables conditional on retaining values from previous rows
Hello, Iam looking for an R solution that can efficiently produce the output shown below. I can produce this easily in SAS with retain statement and a few lines of if-then-else logic, etc.. but I am not find anything similar on the Rforum archives. Below is the logic I am trying to apply to produce the output table below. Thanks in any help! if the ID is the first ID encountered then group=1 and

Checking blank CallerID in Dialplan
I am trying to implement a change to our Dialplan that will thwart tele-spammers that are calling us with blanked out caller ID. The caller IDs seem to vary between originating callers when they block caller ID. I've seen the following: "anonymous" "" So I'm checking for these. However recently one company seems to be bypassing this, so what I wanted to do was

[External] Re: Parser For Line Number Tracing
And now I've found the elusive bug in show.error.locations = TRUE as well, and posted a patch for that too. Back to the original topic of this thread: I think most users should routinely use options(show.error.locations = TRUE) e.g. in their .Rprofile. That will often speed up bug fixes, especially if my patch is incorporated. Duncan Murdoch On 2025-01-20 5:56 p.m., Duncan Murdoch
