I intend to replace fading SCSI drive by a SATA one. The motherboard is PCI and no SATA controller on board. So I need a SATA/PCI controller. Is there something wrong to do this kind of switch? Some told me that I won't be able to boot that drive. Loosing part of the SATA interface speed is not a decisive factor on this machine Is there are some prefered Linux SATA controller? Need

To pass from Centos 5.5 to 5.6 it was easy as an upgrade. I restarted the a Centos 5.6 server tonight and I ran in this issue: I was able to boot. Then instead of a normal boot with graphical interface the system requested : 'Enter run level' 'INIT' I typed 5 then I got 'INIT: no more process left in this run level How can I recover from the situation? On this system I have two nics If I look at the network connection There is nothing there.
