Has anyone had success with getting /dev/random to work
after installing SUNWski? After I install the pkg and start /etc/

Firewall piercing - The Specified network name is no longer available.
Hi all.
I'm trying to set up one of my Unix machines at home so I can access my
stuff there via SMB from the Internet at large (read: from Windows-using
clients').
I'm behind two NATting devices-- the lame-p Prestige DSL modem provided by
Sprint DSL (a.k.a. Earthlink?) and a more typical home DSL/cable gateway
device.
I've poked holes in BOTH of these devices on ports 137, 138,

Usage of a telnet client instead of ssh or rsh
Hi all,
i am building an authentification system based upon MIT kerberos.
I set up a realm in which I can use the ftp and telnet server/clients
infrastructure for the purpose of authentification. To backup my server
i would like to use rsync, but instead of a ssh/rsh/stunnel with an
encrypted kerberized telnet.
My problem is, that i could connect manually via telnet.krb5, but if
like to use it

Kerberized Telnet Badly Broken (Patch enclosed)
Ugh.
With MAKE_KERBEROS5=yes, on a recent STABLE,
I get the following trying to use Kerberized telnet:
# telnet -l test big.x.kientzle.com
Trying 66.166.149.54...
Connected to big.x.kientzle.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
[ Trying mutual KERBEROS5 (host/big.x.kientzle.com@X.KIENTZLE.COM)... ]
Bus error (core dumped)
Fortunately, it's pretty easy to track down:

Nested Class
Hi:
I have something like this:
class xinetd {
... some Puppet code ...
class xinetd::telnet {
... some Puppet code ...
}
}
node ''host1'' {
include xinetd::telnet
}
However, when running Puppet says it can''t find class xinetd::telnet.
I can include xinetd so I know my site.pp correctly includes all .pp
files.
I am running Puppet 2.6.0.
Thanks

Linux can't telnet to WFW 3.11
My server is RH 5.2 and i use Samba 1.9.18p10 and the client use WFW 3.11 with
tcp/ip protocols installed. The subnet and the IP Address is right but I still
only telnet form WFW 3.11 to Linux...not the reverse. On Linux telnet is

telnet and Gnome logins
Hello,
I have a thin client user with a regular Gnome desktop that he logs into
everyday. He also telnets from a remote site into the same server that
provides his Gnome desktop. I know, telnet is insecure, but it's all
over VPN, so it's a little better. Also, he's using telnet from Windows
system.
Anyway, management wants a console app to be executed when that user
logs in over

I've got joy now -- X protocols working *BUT*
*BUT* for reasons that I find unfathomable, I have to have my
xterm open for an hour or so before X applications work.
When I first started a particular terminal session, I got this:
> $ labconsole 043
> xterm -T "S043-1 via telnet bignts17 5010" -e telnet bignts17 5010
> xterm -T "S043-2 via telnet bignts17 5011" -e telnet bignts17 5011
