Authentication/Penalty disabled (socket mode=0) introduces constant 5 sec delays (2.27 on debian 9)
Hi, I hit a bizare problem with dovecot 2.2.7 on debian 9 with LMTP enabled and auth/penalty disabled as documented here : https://wiki.dovecot.org/Authentication/Penalty Use case : I run a swaks command to send an email to an exim4 that tries to make a callout to dovecot-lmtp. At RCPT TO: swaks hangs 5.0<something-small> seconds then process normally (exim is waiting for callout

COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Thanks Andy, helpful as always! 1 is a possibility, but not ideal for us. Could you elaborate a little on 3? I don't really know what a jump stub is, but am guessing it's a kind of "alternative symbol" which would just act as a middle man to invoke the "real" symbol in the static library. If that's the case, I can think of a way to implement it for specific

Authentication/Penalty disabled (socket mode=0) introduces constant 5 sec delays (2.27 on debian 9)
Hi, I can confirm that in the bad behavior, the 5 second delay occurs at each AUTH in our case. I think the configuration we have kill auth process at each end of AUTH (and fork a new one for next next AUTH). I think the "disable" flag is local to the process that is killed / respawned. A collegue of mine, Laurent Guerby, has found a workaround for us and it's findings seems

Weighting Schemes: Evaluation results
Hi James, > We probably don't want them committed in git where they're evaluation > runs (because we can recreate them); a gist might be more appropriate. Sorry, I have moved results files over to gist for each individual weighting scheme. Link: https://gist.github.com/ivmarkp/secret > I can't tell, but are some of those files from FIRE? COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Some time ago I posted here regarding a relocation overflow on Windows (among other things), but the issue disappeared and so the thread got left. I've started this new thread because a) I didn't want to necro the old one and b) it felt like its own. I've now encountered the issue again and am noting down all the information I can get about it whilst it's happening. The issues is

Authentication problems Still
Hi All, I've tried everything I can think of, and spent many many hours trying to get this Sun Solaris 8 machine to authenticate with a Linux 7.1 machine acting as the PDC. In summary: Both machines are running 2.2.3a compiled from source without additional arguments (just ran configure on each platform) No problems with Win95, Win98, WinNT authenticating with the Linux PDC. The Sun machine

[patch] PV drivers can be compiled on CentOS 5.x without any modifications.
Hi all, Since I could not compile PV drivers on CentOS 5.2, I have implemented small patch (attached) to platform-compat.h and overrides.mk. I have tested this patch on both CentOS 5.2 and Debian etch, and it works well. Will you review it? Thank you in advance, Yoshisato YANAGISAWA. -- Yoshisato YANAGISAWA, Ph.D. Open Source Software Computing Project NTT Cyber Space Laboratories NIPPON

help with logons/passwords
Hi, If I setup a share, and create a user with smbpasswd -a, I have to have enter the password extactly as the password supplied by the user's win2000 logon. If they match, then the user connects correctly and all is well. If, however, the win2000 password is different from samba's, then the user connects as 'nobody', and as 'nobody' you get problems with permissions

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The snmp-ups driver 2.6.4 as packaged with Debian wheezy crashes when talking to a UPS that uses the CPQPOWER MIB. I have built 2.6.5 from source and found the same problem. On July 29th I grabbed the latest source from svn, built it and now have a working snmp-ups driver. Would it be possible to update the debian package? I'd be happy to help

asterisk + web services
List, We're working on an upcoming job that may require us to access a web service (WS). I'm curious to hear peoples thoughts on the best way to do this with asterisk. We'll be submitting a single number to the WS and it will return a success or error. One solution would be to write a simple perl script to interface into to the WS, and use SYSTEM() from asterisk to call it.
