[LLVMdev] Predictive Commoning / Scalar Replacement
There is a non-internal techpub for this somewhere, though it escapes me.
My recollection is that TPO (the middle end of XLC) had moved on to
2nd order predictive quite a while ago.
At least, the implementation I saw 6+ years ago in TPO was much closer
to what is described in the 2nd order paper.

I think the original paper was some internal IBM publication.

Build/install on Debian failed
After following https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO, and
then setting up Kerberos following
http://techpubs.spinlocksolutions.com/dklar/kerberos.html, I found Samba
did not work. I have updated the source, rebuilt and rerun provision,
but can not see the local shares, but get
dnl at storestone:~$ sudo /usr/local/samba/bin/smbclient -d3 -L localhost -U%

Mac OS X canonically decomposed UTF-16 filenames
Hi.
I'd like to find some way for Samba to convert the filenames created
by Macintosh OS X into something windows can use.
According to their docs:
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Essentials/SystemOverview/FileSystem/chapter_9_section_13.html
filenames are stored as
canonically decomposed Unicode 2.1 in UTF-16 format (a sequence of
16-bit codes)
Samba running on a mac seems to work okay. It's when I write data to
an NFS volume where I get in trouble. I...

Echo Canceller Wiring (Tellabs.. HOWTO..?)

Send In (TX-in?)
Receive Out (RX-out?)
Am I off base yet?
Now, in order to hook this up between a Channel Bank and a T100P, I want
to post my thoughts and see if they check out...
A crossover cable goes like this:

Pin 2, is RX/Tip
Pin 3, NOT USED
Pin 4, TX/Ring
Pin 5, TX/TIP
Here is where it gets tricky (or confusing at least to me), trying...

[R-SIG-Mac] rnorm.halton
Hi all,
I need to transform classic 32bit Fortran code to 64bit Fortran code,
see the discussion [R-SIG-Mac] rnorm.halton. But I'm clearly a
beginner in Fortran...
Does someone already do this for his package?
From here, http://techpubs.sgi.com/library/tpl/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?coll=linux&db=bks&fname=/SGI_Developer/Porting_Guide/ch03.html
, I identify the following changes (Fortran types) to the Fortran
code:
- INTEGER to INTEGER*8
- REAL*8 to REAL*16
The code I would like to change is available on R forge here...

R 1.6.2 on Mac OSN1-8.1
Dear all,
Is it possible to run R 1.6.2 on Mac OS N1-8.1 after installing CarbonLib and InterfaceLib ?
I downloaded CarbonLib Update 1.0.4 but it didn't work. Is this system too old ?
I am trying to find a solution but if it is not possible it's a waste of time.
Or should I use an older version of R ?
