Samba 3, AD, and roaming profiles
...to the Windows clients - so far, so good.
What I need to be able to do for my group is store their roaming
profiles on my samba server, and run our logon script from our samba server.
I have access to User Manager for AD and have modified the profile entry
for my test user to:
profile path \\techops-test\profile
login script \\techops-test\netlogon\mglcua.bat
Home directory map h:\ to \\techops-test\homes\marteltest
I have also tried:
profile path \\techops-test\profile\marteltest
When I try logging onto a windows machine it reports that it is "unable

Active directory authentication and Solaris 9 problems

Any ideas will be appreciated. I was able to get a SuSE 9.2 configured
to work with AD and allow logins, but the Solaris machine seems to enjoy
being more of a challenge.

Samba 3.5.6, Solaris 10, pam_winbind.so will not link
...ll no progress trying to get Samba 3.5.6 built on Solaris 10, using

Maybe fresh eyes will see something? Been having issues building samba
since 3.4.9 (and anything greater than 3.2.15 on Solaris 9 where samba
will build, but winbind will not work properly for user authentication.)

Help/Note: Bug in samba-2.2.5/msdfs
...other server named info, that
shows the failing actions
I have a workaround, thus i'm not in severe trouble, but the strace/truss
makes me quite unhappy, since it unveals a very odd behaviour of the
Samba-Server.
Since I am looking forward to a holiday, please mailto:edv-techops@elmos.de
if you prefer mailing. (I am included in this list) Nevertheless the
Mailing list is o.k. since my colleagues access it too.

Gunther

Problem with virtual network bridge
Hi all,
I''ve got another problem with virt-install trying to create a Windows XP HVM under OpenSolaris 2008.05 (snv_86). Virt-install hangs for about a minute trying to create the virtual network interface. The config/default-nic parameter has been set for xend.
I''ve attached the logs as I can''t sensibly include the trace inline in this message (stupid).
Any ideas

Probem creating a Windows XP HVM with snv_90
Hi all,
I''ve just upgraded my OpenSolaris 2008.05 workstation to snv_90 after unsucessfully trying to get virt-install.sh to run on snv_86 and now have (I think) a more serious problem. In the xend-debug.log file I keep getting the following error repeated many times :
Failed allocation for dom 8: 1 extents of order 9
ERROR Internal error: Cannot allocate more 2M pages for HVM guest.

Change the volblocksize of a ZFS volume
Dear all,
Background:
I have a ZFS volume with the incorrect volume blocksize for the filesystem (NTFS) that it is supporting.
This volume contains important data that is proving impossible to copy using Windows XP Xen HVM that "owns" the data.
The disparity in volume blocksize (current set to 512bytes!!) is causing significant performance problems.
Question :
Is there a way to
