update or alter cart
I want to modify and update the items in the Depot - "display_cart".
Since the cart is in a session, its a little hard to get at the data.
I just want to create a way to change quantities, prices and
recalculate.
Has someone done this, and could you point me to the right direction.
Thanks
Chas

OT: good headphones?
This is off-topic, mostly, but I figure you guys will have some knowledge in
this sound-quality-related area.
I'm sitting here looking at the most recent "Musician's Friend" at headphones
and thinking about getting a pair. They've got products from AKG, Fostex,
Audio Technica, Nady, Sennheiser, and Sony, at price points ranging from $16
to $130 (list prices $20 to $200). What should I expect to pay for a decent
pair of headphones? Any brands to avoid? I'd be using these for mixing
multitrack recordings and editing CD audio, not for general music listening.
I...

Slightly OT: Vorbis encoding benchmarks
I've been talking to some people about benchmarks for different
operating systems and CPUs, and it would seem that a good way to gain
some exposure for Ogg Vorbis would be to push oggenc as a benchmarking
application when sites such as ExtremeTech, AnandTech, Ars Technica,
etc. post system comparisons.
I know that MP3 encoding is used as a common "media" benchmark, so it
would be nice to get oggenc out there. In order to be a good CPU/memory
bandwidth benchmark it would need to reduce the amount of disk access to
the start/end of the process, and possibl...

Wireless Mic System
...the G2, but the few we have sold have worked fine for several years.
My first choice for most applications is from Shure. They also have more models to choose from, starting lower in cost and going even higher than the Sennheiser.
Other reputable brands are:
Lectrosonics (mostly high end)
Audio-Technica (wide range)
Telex (mid-range)
Sony (mid-range)
I would stay away from any brands that do not offer any products that are considerably more expensive than the Sennheiser that you are looking at. The quality engineered into the best systems does affect the manufacturer's understanding of how t...

UPS, and all that other important rack mount stuff.

ip addr add vs ifconfig eth0:1
A stupid question: which is recomended?
I have 1 interface eth0. I need to set about 20 virtual interfaces eth0:xx
on it.
If I create them with ifconfig eth0:xx I see it with ifconfig and with ip
addr ls. If I set it with ''ip addr add'', ifconfig don''t show them, but ''ip
addr ls'' and ''route'' show them. So, which is better?

Wireless Mic System
I have used several Shure systems, a few Sennheisers and a few
AudioTechnica systems.
Do not expect any of these systems, even the highest end, to be
anywhere as reliable as a wired mic. As the years went on, I
generally moved higher and higher end to try to weed out problems I
had with units that were due to design or unit flaws. I've been out
of the biz for a few y...

Discussion: new terrapin resisting ciphers and macs (alternative to strict-kex) and -ctr mode question.
Hello,
in addition to my last thread about a new config option to make strict-kex mandatory,
I also wonder if a new mechanism for ciphers/macs can be introduced and is reliable
by simple both sides using it.
So there could be a Chacha20-Poly1305v2 at openssh.com which uses AD data to chain the
messages together, so it will be resistant against terrapin even without the strict-kex.
Consequently

For reference, there has been a similar request over on Ars Technica.
