Flush memory on a server?
...s (BIND, NTP,
Apache, Postfix, Dovecot) for two domains.
I was surprised to see that RAM consumption was relatively high, and
apparently, the machine even had to swap at some time.
I read up a bit on RAM consumption, and now I wonder if flushing the
memory cache regularly is a good idea.

Any suggestions?

there is a memory leak on your system, building up over time. I suggest
you show the list full memory usage details if you feel this is the case.

Java SSLv3 status on CentOS-6.6
Can anyone inform me as to whether or not Java on CentOS-6.6 still has
SSLv3 enabled? And if it does then how is it disabled?

Creating Spec file for RPM
Im trying to learn how to create RPMs but am a little confused by the
spec file.
Im trying to package up some Python scripts, rather than binary files,
and I want them to be installed in a subdirectory under /usr/local which
I shall refer to as /usr/local/X
Ive put the scripts in a tarball under /home/me/X/RPM/SOURCES
but Im getting terribly confused over what to put in the? %build

Hm, your using debian stretch, then why are you useing jessie's php5?
Old web app that needed php5?
Stretch its default is php7.0
One that might help fixing that php5-ldap bug is, use the surg.org packages.
https://tecadmin.net/install-php-debian-9-stretch/
Just a suggestion, you can run php5.6 7.0 7.1 7.2 7.3 on stretch.
It works the same, but it might fix the bug in 5.6.
Just... DONT install that now, first fix all samba things.

Debugging Samba is a total PITA and this needs to improve
Once again, something with Samba thirty bazillion components broke. Once
again, my choices for logging are "nothing" or "15 MB/s spread of ten
different files, because 'client authentication failed' totally needs to
be lower priority than malloc debug info". Once again, none of these
messages is actually able to convey what broke, where, why. Why is it
impossible for
