Optim function with meta parameters
...f people. There are 10 teams in total and they compete against each other to perform a certain task whose result is stored in the third column for the team recorded in the first column, and in the fourth column for the team in the second column. For example, the first row of the dataset is: team1 team2 2 3 that means that team1 performed the task competing against team 2 and got 2 points while team 2 got 3 points. Every working team competes against all other 9. I have 190 observations in total and I need to estimate through a MLE the parameters of a poisson distribution to drive the re...

How many namespaces for several groups of shared mailboxes ?
Hello Timo, let's say you want to implement several distinct groups of shared mailboxes via one (several) public namespace(s) with dovecot-1.1.x/Maildir. For instance, team1, team2 and team3 work on different projects (project1, project2, project3). Obviously, as many public namespaces (#team1, #team2, #team3) would do the trick, but then, any user (including users who don't belong to any above team) would 'see' useless non-selectionable folders #team*. So my id...

Games
Hi, I want to build the table of a football league with 11 teams. All play together. So will 55 games. Since there are an odd number of teams in each round a team will not play. The games will be: games = urnsamples(1:11, x = c('A','B','C','D','E','F','G','H','I','J','K'), size=2, replace=F,

Sortable or dragdrop to move items from one collection to another?
I need to present the user with a collection of players and one to many teams. The user can drag a player to a team or from one team to another. I started out using plain drag-drop, but was having trouble updating both the from list and the to list. E.g. if a player goes from team1 to team2 I need to update both of those divs. I can do the team2 div easy enough, but the player record still shows in the team1 div too. The Sortable :containments functionality seems to provide this pretty nicely. I changed to use that and now the visual drag/drop looks and works nicely (with the exc...

end_modal question
Really stupid question, but have you wrapped this all in an App class? If you don''t have a wxApp subclass driving your applications then all sorts of badness would happen. > I''m writing a custom little application for my boss''s high school > football team to track there stats play by play. > > My problem is that when I start the application, it

Word/Excel documents cannot be saved after Samba Upgrade
Hi, after upgrading Samba 3.0.24 to Samba 3.5.4 a strange problem occurs: Users cannot anymore save files in MS Office (Word/Excel) on Samba shares. More precisely: Save as Office 2007 documents or RTF-Files works fine, but *.doc ist avoided with Error Message "Not enough memory". Of course there are lots of memory/space and ACL/Permissions should be ok since other file operations
