As an introduction to the "tool of intersection" that is the Eye of Ra and
connects NBC's Chuck to Kentucky--I believe it's clear I am the first to
link the phrases "render to Caesar what Caesar is due" to ... "taxation is
theft" and to the American "no taxation without representation" of course
through this story of how the "intersect" and the message it describes are
both glowing proof of mind control, something that is clearly interfering
with our "representation" while it&...

Inverse Mills in clustered (multilevel) cross-sectional panel data
...given economic
activity -- entrepreneurship. To do this, I first need to control for the
fact that some individuals self-select to entrepreneurship. This
self-selection may be influenced by individual-level characteristics (such
as age, gender, education etc) as well as country-level factors (e.g.,
taxation). Because both individual- and country-level factors may drive both
self-selection and behavior, once self-selection has occurred, *multi-level
techniques are required for the selection equation. How to do this in R. *The
results of this selection equation would then be used as a control in the...

Cygwin patch
Building flac 1.0.3 under the latest cygwin craps out in
src/libFLAC/file_decode.c and src/flac/file.c for _O_BINARY
not being defined. It appears that #include <io.h> is not
sufficient to pull in this macro; you need to #include
<fcntl.h>.
BTW, nice test suite! Talk about exhaustive.
If anyone is interested in my Cygwin binaries (no Ogg
support), I can provide an encap

5. Regulatory Concerns. Several of the presenters brought up social an
legal issues related to VoIP, and the associated government regulations that
follow. E911 service and CALEA (wiretapping) were both the big concerns, as
was inter-carrier compensation and taxation. Dr. Pepper indicated that he
was pleased with the direction that the VoIP market is going, in terms of
the voluntary compliance with the relevant rules from the existing PSTN
regs. He indicated that the FCC was, for the time being, willing to
regulate minimally -- following the same model use...

ferret finds ''tests'' but not ''test''
Hello all,
Quick question (possibly!) - I''ve got a few records indexed and doing a
search for ''test'' reports in no hits even though I know the word ''tests''
exists in the indexed field. Doing a search for ''tests'' produces a
result. I would have thought that ''test'' would match ''tests'' but no such

General development funding: discussion and survey

from an organizational standpoint. (not sure about taxes, though.)
- How to pay? Obviously, the more the merrier, but credit cards, bank
accounts, PayPal, and other payment instruments are complex and
expensive. Payment to consultants is another problem - taxation may
be a problem again.
- Serious interest. This has been a topic of conversation for the
last 6 years that I'm aware of, and none of the concepts or problems
I'm bringing up here are new. However, it is discussed but no action
is taken. Perhaps now is the time to serious loo...

CentOS is dead, long live CentOS

declare it and pay whatever tax is levied. Whether you received it
personally or as part of an identifiable collective you are
personally liable.
Now, what happens if some, or many, or all of the CentOS maintainers
ends up dealing with say one, or two or N taxation authorities over
the small matter of the taxes outstanding on the thousands of Euros
already donated? What happens then to the future of the CentOS
project? What happens to the probability of a successful successor
project? Somehow, I do not think that such a turn of events would
