mark & owner for local connections
Hi,
Host A has two interfaces: eth0, tap0.
I want that all locally generated traffic from user 1004 goes through
tap0.
This is what I did:

echo 202 bigmac.out >> /etc/iproute2/rt_tables

TINC 1.0pre2 problem
....168.1.0/24
You are using 192.168.x.y addresses for your internal network, but
10.x.y.z addresses for tinc! Why is that? Tinc does not need it's own
IP's, you just have to put the ones you are already using in the
configuration file.

> AllowConnect = no
> ============================
Your MyVirtualIP should be 10.0.0.1/24, not /8. The subnet the tincd on
router A represents is a class C subnet. However, the VpnMask is different

bonding wasn''t made for. I just want to give it a try. I want a simple

workaround to use tinc as default gateway
...ring up a VPN, start an OpenVZ server, then start
virtual environments (VEs) within that. The VEs have addresses from our
campus network. Some now also have Amazon (EIP) addresses so that we
can reach them without traversing the VPN.
Originally I used OpenVPN and configured the VPN interface (tap0) with
DHCP. tinc does not appear to have a clean way of running commands
after an interface is active and I don't really need a valid address for
the VPN interface anyway, so I decided to just use a non-routable
address. This is also cleaner because I don't have to delete the

[Bridge] Strange DHCP behaviour with bridging
Here is the scenario: I have one server with kernel 2.4.24 with a bridge br0
made of 2 interfaces, eth0 and tap0 (the last is an OpenVPN tunnel), and one
remote computer connetting through tap0. If I assign a static IP to the
remote computer, the bridge works perfecly (so I think the problem is not
OpenVPN-related). If I start a DHCPd on the server and I configure the remote
client to get the IP from it,...
