Varma models in the dse package
Hi,
I tried to run the VARMA model in the dse package. I specified a model:

A(L) =

0-0.325L1 1-0.234L1
B(L) =

0-0.206L1 1+0.238L1
and have a TSdata object:

output data:

Mauchly and Levene
Hallo!
I just started working with R to do the statistical analyses for my diploma thesis.
I got two sets of data.
Both contain repeated measures.
One has only one within-subject factor with four levels.
The other has one within-subject factor with two levels and one between-factor with two levels.
I want to compute a Mauchly test for both sets and a Levene test for the second set.

Hello,
I'm trying to fit a generalized linear mixed model to estimate diabetes prevalence at US county level. To do this I'm using the glmer() function in package lme4. I can fit relatively simple models (i.e. few covariates) but when expanding the number of covariates I usually encounter the following error message.

creating a world map of eco-climatic zones
Hello R users:
I would like to produce a world map with countries colored according to whether
they fall into one of 7 eco-climatic zones. For simplicity, each country is
allocated to exactly 1 eco-climatic zone. For this purpose I have looked at the
map and mapdata packages, which contain world maps composed of polygons (1 for
each country, it seems). Each of the polygons can be referred to by a

Yes, I saw that too. I presumed that it was okay to mail this list
because I saw a suggestion in an older post[1] to send messages to it.
But perhaps I'm wrong.

New design for R html help pages
Hi,
I've completed a re-design of the R html help pages over the weekend
(without the Kitzb=FChel ski races on TV I would have had some more time
...). The design is actually not from me but from Tanja Afra, a
student of our department.
Anyway, I've put a snapshot on
http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~leisch/R/doc/html/index.html
please have a look and feel free to make any suggestions when

[cfe-dev] www-scripts Sphinx doc builder broken and needs intervention.
@Tobias The poly docs build step is still failing, but due to a bug in the
particular version of Sphinx used by the www-scripts builder.
This seems like something best worked around inside poly.
The builds take place hourly and their output is reported on the
www-scripts at lists.llvm.org mailing list.

update on mcmcsamp for glmer
I've searched the help archives of both lists and apologize if I missed the answer to my question:
Is there an update on developing mcmcsamp for glmer?
I'm using R v. 2.7.2 (on our Unix server - will hopefully be updated soon) and 2.8.1 on my PC and get the message for both:
gm1 <- glmer(cbind(incidence, size - incidence) ~ period + (1 | herd),family = binomial, data = cbpp)

How to use publickey from x509 certificate?
Hello,
I have the following problem: I want to use publickey authentication by
using the publickey of a x509 certificate stored on a java card. I can
already extract the publickey of the certificate and write it into a
file. The problem i have is that i don't know how to convert the
certificate's publickey into an rsa publickey format that openssh will
accept.
Does anybody have a

Red Alert 2: Odd problem
Hi all,
I am currently attempting to play Red Alert 2 on my Ubuntu 11.10 installation under Wine. Now, Red Alert 2 will launch fine, as expected on a Windows machine. The most minor error is the campaign selection screen where it takes an "alt-tab" to respond. I'm not so worried about this error.
However, when I enter a single player game (Skirmish or Campaign), whenever the game

smooth non cumulative baseline hazard in Cox model
Hi everyone.
There's been several threads on baseline hazard in Cox model but I think
they were all on cumulative baseline hazard,

new R packages for phylogenetic compartive methods
Dear all,
I wanted to let you know about four phylogenetic comparative methods (PCM) packages that have become available on (3 on CRAN and 1 on GitHub) recently that hopefully will be interesting to somebody. Three of them go significantly beyond the Brownian motion (BM) and Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (OU) processes.

Crash (talloc error) after failed chdir
Hello,
This is a problem with both samba 4.3.3 and 4.3.4.
I have a crash that seems triggered after a NT_STATUS_DENIED on a chdir
operation. After that the server begins to shutdown itself with the
message "Server exit (failed to receive smb request)", to close all the
connections and when closing it crashes due a talloc error.
I cannot reproduce myself this error and it occurs

read.table()
Hi List,
I have spent more than 30 minutes, but failed to read in this file using the read.table() function. I could not figure out how to fix the following error.
Error in scan(file, what, nmax, sep, dec, quote, skip, nlines, na.strings, : line 1 did not have 6 elements
Any help would be be appreciated.
