I have a kyocera TA-205C printer that is can scan to pdf and place the file on a smb share. I have a user on my domain (PCEDOM\printers) that can login and access the share. I tested it out with smbclient and was able to create a file where the printer is supposed to be able to put the file. The printer gave a very unhelpful error message, so I did a packet capture to find the error. (see

I understand from the wiki that I shouldn't have the domain controller also be the file server. Is it possible to to setup the domain controller in a chroot and have the file server run under regular root? Would it be better to setup a VM for the domain controller and have file server run on the main OS or vice-versa? Regards, John

Hallo! I have a small problem. As I installed a Samba-server at one of our customers (office of foreign affairs, AKA consulate), Win98r2 does not want to shut down, the system hangs.
