I don't have a problem with being called a "tangential blabber."
What *I* have a problem is being singled out. Dude, re-read back
in that last thread. Although I didn't stop posting, at some point,
I realized it w...

HTML vignette browser
Hi,
this is tangentially related to the recent discussion on vignettes.
vignette() currently produces a listing of available vignettes, but
these are not clickable. Since R has a browseURL() function, it seems
natural to have a version that produces HTML with clickable links.
Here's an attempt at that:

forwarding emails using sieve
I know this is a tad tangential to dovecot, but maybe someone has some
pointers for me. I'm trying to forward emails using the sieve filtering
and redirect doesn't do it because it doesn't wrap the message in a new
email, instead, it seems to just change the envelope From (and To). This
causes the outbound relay to reject the message for security/spam
reasons (forged From). It

How do I...
Only tangentially on topic, at best...
Given a pile of html files, comprising chapters of a book, with a single
html file that serves as a table of contents to the group, how would I
turn the entire book into a single PDF?
I can't think of a way to do that, all I can come up with would result
in a pile of PDF...

RFC: Enabling Module passes post-ISel
...ignificantly smaller or they're happy to trade off compile
time for expensive server time. That does not mean that we shouldn't strive
for a solution that can be acceptable by all users. On the other hand
making something opt-in makes it non-default, and that increases the
testing surface.
Tangentially I think that LLVM currently doesn't have the right tuning
knobs to allow the user to select their desired tradeoff. We have one
optimization flag -O{s,z,0,1,2,3} which encodes both optimization *goal* (a
point on the pareto curve between size and speed) and amount of effort to
expend at compile...

[LLVMdev] svn down?
Hello,
I had a question tangentially related to svn. I am very new to
LLVM. It seems like a long road to making my own backend, but I am
wading through the documentation and experimenting with the code and
having a lot of fun with it. I would like to try various experimental
things out and also keep track of the latest ch...

This list exists to help people to use icecast and related streaming
software. It does not exist to provide free advertising. Your product
is admittedly more tangentially related to icecast than Viagra, but
this is still spam.
Please either contribute actual help or refrain from
posting. Messages like the one above just annoy our members and are

Gradient field from loess
I have a two-dimensional loess fit, and need to calculate the
gradient field from it. Even after looking at loess.c and loess.f,
I don't understand the meaning of the returned polynomial coefficients.
Or is the brute force method of using a tangential approx
to the fitted values the way to go?

I know this is only tangential to samba, but ...
If in my cupsd.conf, should I be able to do something like:

AuthType Basic
AuthClass Group
AuthGroupName DOMAIN+Domain\ Admins

I would think giving cupsd domain credentials which have membership in
the proper group would authenticate you ... it isn't working .. yet

64-bit Java?
Hi folks,
Stupid question time, possibly only tangentially related to CentOS,
and I apoligise in advance.
I have a bunch of CentOS 64-bit boxes, and I have developers who want
to run eclipse on these boxes. So I have downloaded the 64-bit
bundle of eclipse, installed the java from java.sun.com, and the
result is that Eclipse won't run. It chugges aw...

Rsync doesn't log properly when in standalone daemon mode
I'm trying to get over an exasperating problem with rsync 2.5.7, but
I'm not making any headway. The nut of the problem is that the
rsync daemon seemingly ignores the "syslog facility" configuration
when running in standalone daemon mode, as opposed to being started
with inetd.
So, for example, if I have my configuration file with
[global]
pid file = /etc/rsync/rsyncd.pid
