How to SELECT from multiple talbes with AR#find and associations?
So I want to SELECT from multiple tables, so as to be able to do "SELECT FROM foo, bar WHERE foo.id=bar.id AND bar.baz=23". How do I do it with AR#find? Also, I need this for associations. has_many et. al. have :finder_sql, which is nice, but feels like a Pyrrhic: it''s basically doing the association in pure SQL, defeating the purpose of AR. -- -Alder

Page tables in Xen
Hi, I have a question about memory page tables in Xen. As far as I understood, every modification to page table will go through Xen(hypervisor). Is it so that all page tables are actually allocated in Xen(hypervisor) instead of guest OS(domain)? Also, is it the case that Xen(hypervisor) needs to maintain a page table for each process running in every domain? Thanks Haifeng

Transport endpoint is not connected while mounting....

I first disabled iptables on both machines and got the same results so I started ip talbes adding an exception on both machines: `iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 7777 -j ACCEPT ; service iptables save` The machines can ping each other. and they have the exact same config: cluster: node_count = 2 name = ocfs2 node: ip_port = 7777 ip_address = 10.128.255.3 number = 0 name = m3.c...

quick and easy way to convert id3-tagged flac to flac-tagged flac?
So before i knew better, i encoded a lot of my CDs in flac and added id3 tags (they worked, so great!). I know i've seen mention of others doing this; anyone gone to the trouble to write a tag conversion tool? Shouldn't be too tough, but i'd rather not reinvent the wheel. danno -- dan pritts danno@umich.edu 734-929-9770

Bad mime type reported for flac file
Hi all, It has recently come to my attention that the linux "file" utility reports some (but not all) of my flac files as having a mime type of "audio/mpeg". Obviously this is incorrect, but why is it reported as such? I've cut and paste a few commands below from my shell to illustrate what I'm seeing: black:/media/mildred/music/Tool/10,000 Days$ file -i *

Xen 3.0.4 - Ballooning
Hi, Maybe it''s a dumb question, but I''m actually trying to understand how the memory allocation works within Xen. I try to give 128MB to a domU and see if it increases for example when I "nano" a 500mb file, but the process just get killed when it reachs the 128MB memory limit. How do I configure the guests so they can ask for more memory until a limit is reached

ActiveRecord, blocking or async, logging, syslog/udp
Here''s a gedanken experiment for those w/ far more knowledge than I about ActiveRecord, etc.: Let''s say my database is very remote and on a very slow machine. Let''s further say that my app has an action that leads to a very simple insert into the "impressions" table of the db, a la "INSERT INTO impressions(docid) VALUES($docid);" - and

OT: Best DB
I know this is a bit off topic but we are using Asterisk :) Since this list is full of tech gurus w/ all different sorts of backgrounds, I thought I would get the best opinions here. We have several different switches and other telecom equipment at our facilities which all have their own proprietary cdr platforms, which are rather limited. The company I work for is looking to develop their
