Backup
Hello All,
I am setting up a samba backup UNIX box. It will periodically login onto
a windoze box(with smbclient), pickup the files, and save them.
The problem is that I couldn't make any error correction in case of
power blackout or anything similar. That is, while backing up, if I
shutdown the WIN machine, one I'm backing up, smbclient goes crazy, giving
broken pipe error.

libsmbclient question
Hi Jeremy,
It's now clear. We'll do a short term workaround somehow. I created the bug.

Thanks for the useful reply.
Kind regards,

isolinux booting problem
...n't understand everything in it and I can't find enough information.
The "sectors to load" number seems to be weird for me, but I'm not sure.
I tryed it with two versions of syslinux and mkisofs (knoppix/debian sarge),
but the error is always the same.
Any suggestions?
Thx

OFFTOPIC: SPARK Y H2O
Buenas erreros!!

Unreal again
This time I could get Unreal (not UT) working in wine again. And sound
finally works!, thanks to everyone who did the directsound api :) It might
have been able to run Unreal for a while but i just discovered that it only
starts up if the partition is mounted read-only. Strangely enough, it works
flawlessly after that. Anyone knows what might be the reason?
So, for now, I do a sleep 15 and

3.0.23 + afsacl build problem
...n't know what is it.
The other purpose of this mail is to inform you about these problems. I
hope this is the right place for it, and I can see the solution for
these problems in the final 3.0.23 at least, if I can't get over this
problem with your help.
Thanks for any help in advance!

...first (the machine that I've
primarily been working with) but is now and I've put an entry into the
LMHosts file. I also changed the LMHosts file as you directed but it didn't
help any.
The DNS server works fine to resolve those names from both itself and the
Win2k machine in question.
Szilard:
There was never a mapping on this machine though there was a 'shortcut' in
"My Network Places". I got rid of that but the service to that server still
doesn't work.
Also, there was a reghack that I found for Win2k that added a longer timeout
value to connect to this resource...

Windows 2000 and Samba
I have a Samba server running on an AIX 4.4.3 RS6000 that has been serving
up files without problem. Recently, a pair of machines, both Windows 2000
Pro, haven't been able to gain access to any of the Samba resources on the
AIX server though they were both able to previously. Other WinNT and Win2k
machines can get to these shared resources fine, just not these two.
I haven't found anything
