Problem wit glusterfs-server 3.4
Hi at all! i'm trying to use glusterfs for the first time and have the following problem: I want to have two nodes. On node1 I have a raid1-sytem running in /raid/storage Both nodes see the other and now I try to create a volume. While I create the first volume on a fresh system (node1) for the first time, gluster said: volume create: glustervolume: failed: /raid/storage/ or a prefix of it is already part of a volume How can it be? It is pos...

Thank you very much in advance, Derk Bemeleit ----------------------------------------------- A--------T T-------A Dipl.-Biol.

date problem with ntfs or vfat mounted file sytem
Hi under linux I have to mount windows filesystem (ntfs or vfat). but with rsync (or with a single touch command as well) I can not write a file with a correct date on /mnt/windows_vfat or /mnt/windows_ntfs with ntfs --> only write file system ! with vfat --> wrong date ! so rsync does a full copy each time. How can I solve this ? PS: I use the same script to synchronise ext3 filesystem as

Changing booted Kernel with grub
...root=LABEL=/ initrd /initrd-2.4.21-27.0.2.EL.img title CentOS (2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp) root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp ro root=LABEL=/ initrd /initrd-2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp.img title CentOS (2.4.21-27.0.1.EL) ....... I then created a new symbolic link for Sytem.map in /boot to point to System.map-2.4.21-27.0.2.EL. When I reboot the 2.4.21-27.0.1.ELsmp is used and System.map has been changed to point to the smp kernel. Is there a step I'm missing out? BTW, the upgrade from 3.3 to 3.4 using yum seems to have worked - I'm running Oracle on the ser...

Authentication error after authentication query (for Eudora 5.2 on Mac)
...a problem at the moment. I run a heterogeneous network with windows and Mac clients logging into a Fedora Linux 2 box running sendmail and previously UW-IMAP, but now Dovecot. I am using strictly pop3, plain authentication with mbox format. Every computer in the network is working fine with this sytem, except 1. A mac running Eurdora mail 5.2. It gives me an Authentication error every time it tries to get mail. I telnet into the server and when I skip the AUTH process and just log in, the server works fine as follows: [talberts at localhost ~]$ telnet mail.inside.msi 110 Trying 192.168.0.3....

Tracking Open Ports
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to notify or log when a specific remote port is openened? I have an old LDAP server that I am looking to get rid of, but there is still a few queries reaching it. The sytem authentication is setup correctly (as is Postfix), so I am thinking there must be some script or program that is setup to query the older LDAP server. I tried using lsof -i|grep 389, but I am not quick enough to get results before the socket is closed. Is there any program or script I could write...

Supplementing Current phone system

We would like them to act as normal extensions (being able to dial them by extension from the existing phone system and have them dial extensions on the existing phone sytem).

[LLVMdev] Using LLVM to compile system programs
...I suspect that it would not be. However I assume, option #3 would require linking LLI with _all_ of the system's libraries, which seems nutty, and option #1 is likely to fail for at least some system libraries due to inline assembly. Do my assumptions seem correct? Has an OS (or at least the sytem applications on it) ever been compiled with LLVM? Thanks, Sean

R-2.0.1 Gentoo g77 problem
Hello, I use Gentoo and I can't get R 2.0.1 to compile. I used the portage system, Gentoo's source package sytem, and after it uncompresses the source to R, it says that I don't have a fortran compiler. It told me to use f77 flag and re-emerge gcc, which I did with the f77 and fortran flags, but it still won't compile. Does anyone have any ideas? I suspect that gcc has changed it's interworkings,...

Windows 95 connection problem.
I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem that's driving me potty! I have a network at home of various flavour of Wind*ws and a Mandrake 8.1 Linux box. After much trial and error, I have set the sytem up so I can log on to the network from WIn NT, Win 2k, Win 98 - but, no matter what I try, I cannot get a Win 95 machine to connect. I have installed the vrdrupd.exe file on the Win 95 machine as that seemed to promise my success, but still no joy. I can see the homes and share directory I set...

[LLVMdev] Missing file: clang.vdproj
...as this file missed during commit? The file is expected > to be in llvm_trunk\clang\ > The file should be in the clang repository, not the llvm one and be named clang.vcproj (maybe a typo). If you use only llvm, don't use the clang solution. Or you may want to try the new cmake build sytem.
