Hi, I used to be able to smbmount a drive on my XP machine. But today I
tried and i got:

Please look at smbmount's manual page for possible reasons
When I do:

I get:

Locking problem reported when starting smbd on a second systen!
I was successful installing and configured Samba 2.2.5 on my first Solaris
machine.
However, the second Solaris machine returns errno=11 (EAGAIN ~ Service
Temporary Unavailable).
I have tried to delete the "locks" directory to remove possible "old"
locks - upon startup the smbd create new log files, but the same errors are
reported again. Why only on one of my systems - I

ZFS recovery tools
Hi,
I have just recovered from a ZFS crash. During the antagonizing time this took, I was surprised to
learn how undocumented the tools and options for ZFS recovery we''re. I managed to recover thanks
to some great forum posts from Victor Latushkin, however without his posts I would still be crying
at night...
I think the worst example is the zdb man page, which all it does is to ask you

CentOS 4 and CentOS 5 DomU on CentOS 5 Dom0: problems with hand-built OS and LVM
...el on DomU and Dom0 for
para-virtualization with the arguments in "root =" above.
By the way: the differences betweent he jailtime setups, which I really
like, and the virt-instlal and virt-manager built systems are legion and
favor the stripped down jailtime setups. The virt-install systens use
the Dom0 partitions as disk drives, *ALWAYS* called /dev/xvda and the
like. This means that extracting the data from a paused or shutdown
domain for backup purposes requires me looking *inside* that disk image,
extracting the partition information (with tools like kpartx, I assume),

Hi list,
I am faced by a strange problem w/ one of our 10 win2k/sp3 clients in a
samba2.2.8a pdc-network. If I want to logon I get a message like
this(translated from german): "Your profile has not been loaded, but you
will be logged in to a local Profile. Your serverside profile has not been
loaded because its security-properties are not properly." and that's it.

I hope it works for you. If you have any reservations, please wait for Sun
to release something official, and don''t blame me if your data is gone.

X11 & dev2bitmap
Hi,
I am trying to put some graphics I have generated from R on a
webpage using dev2bitmap to create a bitmap, .BMP, file.
When I look at my notes from 2 or 3 months ago I was successfully able to
put the ACTIVE device plot result into a bitmap file using a command such
as:
dev2bitmap("InsectSpray.BMP")
Job done!
Now when I try the same command, I get the following:

How to give system and virtual users their own mail_location?

the subject).
I hace Dovecot rc12 working on Mandriva 2007.0 now for system accounts and
virtual accounts both imap and imaps can be used. Th problem now is that I
cannot use both types of user at the same time. The 'mail_location =

Bug#437127: xen-utils-common: vif-common fails to identify ip address of ethernet device
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 3.0.3-0-2
Severity: normal
On my systen, the script vif-common fails to retrieve the primary
IP address of my ethernet device, preventing a domU from starting.
I tracked this issue down to the file /etc/xen/script/vif-common.
The function ip_of uses the following shell code to extract the
address:
ip addr show "$1" | awk "/^.*inet.*$1\$/{print

olpc theora-svn testing
Hi,
I have done a simple libtheora test for the theora ticket
(http://dev.laptop.org/attachment/ticket/5988/), using theora-svn. The
results are at:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Theora#Testing
For the sake of discussion here, 've copied some comments from the
results section on the wiki:
- the patch for super fastmode seems to give an impressive speedup.

Why does dovecot require the {} password sheme even if there is a $ crypt scheme.
The wiki[1] says:
If all the passwords are in same format, you can use default_pass_scheme to specify it. Otherwise each password needs to be prefixed with "{password-scheme}", for example "{plain}plaintext-password".
Why doesn't dovecot recognize the crypt scheme identifier ($1$ for MD5-CRYPT, $6$ for SHA512-CRYPT etc.)? At the moment I have to have the following in my db
