Prefer -u not to change newer files.
Hi List,
Quoting man page:
In the currently implementation, a difference of file format is
always considered to be important enough for an update, no matter
what date is on the objects. In other words, if the source has a
directory or a symlink where the destination has a file, the
transfer would occur

Filesystem returned to state of six months ago after fsck
Recently our sysadm accidentally powercycled our server (RedHat8) after 198 days of uptime, and upon boot it insisted on checking one partition (/dev/sda7) in our RAID. When it was done, the files were in the state of August 23 last year, with anything newer either gone or invisible. I guess something went wrong with...

adding samba passwds
...swd -a userpassword" in his
linux box first.
We are adding large number of users to our linux box by using the
"newusers" command in linux. The newusers command helps us to have
an initial passwd for the users. My questions are
At present windows login for users is enabled by the sysadm executing
the smbpasswd command as the user, after creating the account.
But this is a very cumbersome process when we create around 500 users
at one go. Is there any way this can be overcome ?

...for somereason, should the driver

I don't think "skb allocation fails" should increase rx packets
counter. The difference is that these events are outside sysadm/users
control, and is an error detected inside the driver. The XDP program
takes a policy choice to XDP_DROP a packet, which can be accounted
inside the XDP prog (as the samples show) or as we also discuss via a
more generic XDP-action counters.
That said, I took at quick look at driver code, and...

Improvements to "Authentication failed" error
Probably one of the most commonly asked question is "Why does Dovecot
just say authentication failed"? It would be nice to be able to get rid
of these questions by having Dovecot itself point out the
http://wiki.dovecot.org/WhyDoesItNotWork link. But how to do this? There
are two groups of people here:
1) People who look at logs after seeing the "Authentication failed" from

FreeBSD 9.1 - openldap slapd lockups, mutex problems
Hi.
(Im am sending this to the "stable" list, because it maybe kernel related.. )
On 9.1-RELEASE I am witnessing lockups of the openldap slapd daemon.
The slapd runs for some days and then hangs, consuming high amounts of CPU.
In this state slapd can only be restarted by SIGKILL.

....so it doesn't crash when I print the whole object, but when I

happen.
I heard the sysadm who did the installation had some problems,
I don't know what it was about, but if I understood him correctly,
it only happened when he tuned for EV6, so it shouldn't be a problem now,
I guess....

Lost mdadm.conf
Hi,
I lost my mdadm.conf (and /proc/mdadm shows nothing useful) and I'd like to
mount the filesystem again. So I've booted using rescue but I was wondering
if I can do a command like this safely (i.e without losing the data
previously stored).
mdadm -C /dev/md0 --level=raid0 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1
Where of course the raid devices and the /dev/x are the correct ones
