free_irq_vector on ia64
Hi Alex: I was looking at an ia64 bug report and noticed that we don''t actually free IRQs in the free_irq_vector hypercall. This would eventually lead to alloc_irq_vector failing. Unless I''m mistaken something like calling pci_disable_device and pci_enable_device can lead to this situation. So I''m wondering what the original problem was and how could we resolve it

3.0.4 ACPI support and Opteron 2210 ?
Hello, I originally posted this to xen-users, but someone suggested I post it here. I am having ACPI problems on a PenguinComputing Altus1600 system. It has 2x dual core Opteron 2210 processors. The system boots with a standard Debian or Ubuntu SMP kernel, with ACPI enabled. However the xen live cd, binary xen install, as well as my own custom compile of xen 3.0.4 from source will not boot.

Success: Bring-up of LLVM/clang-built Linux ARM(32-bit) kernel for Android - Nexus 5
...:* After a fair amount of research into how to reset ARM CPU in bare-metal/assembly mode, I realized that there must piece of low-level code which resets/reboots the ARM CPU when the user issues a "reboot" command on console/terminal - where is it? After tracing down the reboot=>..=>sys_reboot()=>...some level-code to restart machine, I located the logic which could restart the system. Using that as a reference for my implementation of ARM CPU reset, wrote a reset logic in ARM assembly and placed it in head.S. After experimenting substantially, came up with a reset logic that seemed t...

[RFC PATCH 00/35] Xen i386 paravirtualization support
Unlike full virtualization in which the virtual machine provides the same platform interface as running natively on the hardware, paravirtualization requires modification to the guest operating system to work with the platform interface provided by the hypervisor. Xen was designed with performance in mind. Calls to the hypervisor are minimized, batched if necessary, and non-critical codepaths
